Your pov
You have always loved Dazai ever since you both worked in the mafia and you even followed him to the ADA. You never had the guts to tell him your feelings so you decided to keep quiet; however, you knew one day you couldn't keep it in any longer.

You and Dazai were assigned a mission along with Ranpo and Kenji. There was a murder performed by someone with an ability. Whoever it was they had no ties with any organization and were not registered as a citizen of Japan. Apparently this person has a strong ability so Kenji was very much needed along with Ranpo to figure it out. Dazai and his gift 'no longer human' was vital for stopping this person's ability. Yours, on the other hand was needed for finding the weakness of this user so Dazai could work his magic. Your gift is called 'Flower of the Heart' it allows you to identify someone's ability and understand its usage and weaknesses after witnessing its power.

The four of you made your way down to the site. It wasn't too far so you all got there in a short amount of time. You drove knowing that Dazai would crash, you didn't know if Kenji could even drive, and Ranpo...You didn't know how safe that would be either. When you arrived it was quiet and dark. The building you were in was abandoned and had a creepy aura.

You eventually found the body and let Ranpo gather his clues. He began to walk into another room and the rest of you followed. When you all walked in there was another unpleasant surprise, Dazai was immediately hit in the head with a pole and fell to the floor.
"Great" you thought. "Now what."
Kenji began to fight back as you helped Ranpo guard Dazai from any further damage. You watched the person carefully and memorized every aspect of their ability. After gathering a decent amount of knowledge of this ability you began to fight back. It was a physical ability making it easier for Kenji to fight. If it was any other it could have been fatal for you all. Yosano was back at the agency meaning there was no possible way of being at full health. You were worried about Dazai still and hoped he would be alright. Kenji saw you and backed off a bit knowing that you were about to destroy this man through his weakness. You began to slash at him and attack him using his own ability. The man was stunned and began to attack back. This man's weakness is the fear of someone being stronger than himself. That's when you got an idea. You began to combine Kenji's power and the man's to make you stronger than the both. You beat the said man and defeated him. After a long fought battle you turned to the others and smiled.
"(Y/N) LOOK OUT!!" Ranpo yelled.
You turned around and saw a huge beam hurling towards you and Dazai.
You immediately gaurded Dazai and everything suddenly went black.

Everyone safely made it back. Ranpo was carrying you in his arms and Dazai on Kenji's back.
"Yosano come quick" Ranpo said.

You and Dazai laid in separate beds in Yosano's office. Dazai was the first to wake up.

His pov
"Where am I?" He says. He looks over and sees Yosano cleaning a scalpel.
"You are back at the agency" she says calmly, "you were knocked out and were brought back after Ranpo and Kenji finished the job. You weren't injured badly though just a hard hit to the head nothing too serious. I don't think you'll suffer any consequences just make sure to continue making visits regularly for the next couple of weeks. On the other hand (y/n)... I don't think I can do anything currently..."
He looked over and saw you... lifelessly laying there attached to an oxygen mask. His heart broke seeing you like this.
"She's currently in a coma I'm not sure how long it will take to wake up... hopefully it will be soon." Yosano says sadly.

1 year later

You were moved into a hospital due to your condition. There wasn't much Yosano could do to help you. Even though her ability, 'Thou shalt not die' and it's healing ability, couldn't do much to bring someone back from a coma. It could help heal other injuries the person suffered but it wasn't much of a use when one is suffering from a coma.
Dazai brought flowers regularly when the current ones died out. He would also stay for hours and talk to you hoping you were listening and would wake up.
One day he made his usual trip to your room and replaced the flowers. Your state wrecked him inside and he wished that you could trade places. He hated that you had to suffer through this. Why did he have to be knocked out and have you suffer without his protection. This is why he arranged himself in missions with you that were too dangerous so he would be there to protect you and keep you safe. He sat down on the bed beside you and began to cry. It was just a small cry so it wasn't loud enough for others to hear. He grabbed your hand and held it close to his face and began to leave small kisses on it. He loved you so much and just wanted you to wake up.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry angel... please wake up it's been a year and I can't continue watching you like this anymore... it hurts to see you like this. I-I love you... I love you so much. I miss seeing you smile when you see me first thing in the morning, your laugh when someone says or does something ridiculous, your kind and gentle spirit, the way you constantly look after me, your beautiful and angelic appearance... and lastly-" he stutters when he sees you staring at him with blushing cheeks. You also had tears rolling down your face.
"I-" he begins in between sobs but was cut off when you ripped the oxygen mask off and leaped into his arms. You quickly brought your face to his and latched onto his lips. He was extremely shocked and held tightly onto your waist as if he was going to lose you again. His lips were dry from dehydration but it isn't like you cared, all that mattered was him being there and your love for each other. The kiss became somewhat passionate. When you two parted you placed your foreheads together and looked into each others eyes lovingly. He brought his hand up to your face and caressed it gently.
"Ranpo told me everything... why would you sacrifice yourself like that?" He says.
"Because I have always loved you Dazai... ever since we were young and in the mafia. That's why I followed you here to the ADA. I don't know what I would have done without you. And besides... as long as you're safe... that's all that matters to me."

Authors note: 1,000 reads!?!? Tysm I'm literally so happy I was able to achieve that! The ability (y/n) has in this chapter will not be the permanent ability (y/n) has throughout this book, it can change to be something else depending on the story plot. Also idk if Yosano is able to bring someone back from a coma or not so I just said she couldn't for plot reasons.
