You and Donnie continued walking home, where he continued to be oddly silent. You figured he was still upset about the game so you left him alone. Once back at the turtles' lair, you found a towel and took a shower. You heard the guys all talking, signaling they got back too, so you made sure nobody was between the bathroom and Donnie's room when you made your dash across the hall. The towel was around your middle so they wouldn't see anything, but it was a modesty thing.

"Hey D, you got some clothes I can borrow?" you asked, your sweaty clothes bunched up in your hands. He wordlessly got up from his chair to retrieve an outfit, and you watched him with a gradually tilting head. What was up with him? You asked him that when he pushed his clothes into your hands.

"I'm busy," he said shortly, already halfway back to his desk.

"You're gonna miss the show!" you teased as you dropped the towel and put his boxers and purple hoodie on. They smelled like him, and you breathed it in deeply. Not only was your skin cleaned with his body wash, but now you looked like him too! But he didn't even roll his eyes at you. Something was up. "Hey, darling-"

"I'm working." Same short tone. You frowned as you walked over to sit on his desk, looking at him with obvious concern. "No. My desk is not a chair." He didn't even look at you. So you continued to sit on his desk to force him to look at you, which he did after a moment with fuming eyes. His anger blew you away.

"Alright spill. What's bothering you?" you demanded, but he just scoffed irritably. This scoff seemed to hold actual contempt in it. "Donnie, look at me, please."

"Why aren't you hanging out with Leo?" He met your gaze, clear anger in his eyes. But you swore you saw some pain too. "You two seem to have wonderful chemistry."

"What are you talking about?" Your voice was less indignant and more understanding. This wasn't him being pissy for no reason, there was a deeper issue here.

"Oh spare me, you already know. You two were flirting with each other."

"If you call making jabs at each other flirting," you mumbled, before realizing something: that's how you and Donnie had been flirting with each other. No wonder he was confused. "He's too cocky for me anyway, way too full of himself to have room for anyone else."

"Well I'm glad that's the only reason you two aren't having sex!" He threw his hands in the air. You bristled, his tone getting under your skin.

"Why do you even care who I sleep with?" The two of were nothing but fuckbuddies—did he think you were exclusive? You were, but not because of a commitment like a relationship.

"Because-" He cut himself off and bit his tongue, zeroing in on whatever project he was working on to shut you out.

"No no, tell me. If you're gonna assume I'll sleep with anyone, I wanna know why." You leaned into his personal space, your gaze narrowed and a frown on your lips. There was heat coming off your skin from your blood boiling. He still refused to speak. "Answer me!"

"You never declined his invitation to have sex!" he exploded, standing up so he looked down at you. You sat back in shock. "And you said you'd never have sex with a turtle because that's quote 'ew' unquote."

"Obviously I don't mind sleeping with you-"

"No, that's not obvious, (L/n)! I informed you I don't pick up on social cues!" He started anxiously scratching his wrist, frustration palpable. You were starting to feel guilty.

"Look, let me explain." He looked less than willing to listen. "Please." He crossed his arms, but said nothing. That was as good of a 'go ahead' as you'd get. "I didn't deny his invitation because you did it for me, and I told him that it was 'ew' so he'd assume I didn't want to because of that. I can't tell him I'm fucking his brother, you know?" He kept his expression firm so you couldn't get a read on him. You sighed. "Why do you care if I sleep with him? I want your honest thoughts. I'm not gonna judge, I just wanna know the core reason behind this argument." The people pleaser side of you was winning out over the arrogant part of you, and you didn't like arguing with anyone—especially him. You really started to like him without realizing, huh?
