"We still have to let them try," Sonya says. "Maybe your wrong.""Im not."
"Oh shut up. What you just said was just a bunch of made up sh*t!" I say. "You guys don't seriously believe him, right?" I look around the room. Nobody agrees with me.
"This is out of our hands too," Levy says. "Way out of our hands. We're just a bunch of kids, there's nothing we can do about murder."
He's right. The police need to handle this, if Hayden's right and they can't, the FBI will, who knows. It'll be dealt with and we'll have to go back to normal.
"Okay, fine. Let's go, Sonya?" I offer a hand for Sonya to take and follow me out. She does and waves a sad goodbye to everyone as we leave.
"What's wrong, Line? It's fine, the police will fix everything," she says.
"It's not fine! Three people are dead and we were—are—their prime suspects because they can't think of anyone else!" This is crazy. My head is pounding still from a hangover. I don't know why I keep yelling because my head rings every time I do.
"Okay, I get it. Let's go back to the dorms and sleep. We have the day off so we can relax."
I nod and we both go to our dorms and pass out for the whole day.
The next day is gloomy and rainy. The headmistress calls a meeting in the church again. Sonya and I put decent clothes on and make our way over.
"The police have given this case to the FBI. We will continue our normal schedule and school will be back in session tomorrow." She sighs when she sees the disappointment in our faces. "Don't worry, we will not forget the three girls who have passed." She says.
"What were their names, if you care so much!?" A girl in the crowd screams. "You don't give a sh*t about them!"
The headmistress is taken back. "Excuse me," she starts.
"No. What are you gonna do to me? Kill me? Did you kill those girls?" The girl screams, tears stream down her face.
"Young lady—"
"Stop!" The crying girl yells. "I'm leaving! I'm leaving this h*ll hole, for good!" Some cheers come from the crowd. "There's no chance I'm getting murdered," she says before she leaves.
Some people follow her out, most stay. I assume she's packing her things and they are too, but I don't know what they'll do from there. Call their parents, perhaps.
The headmistress starts to cry at the girls "rude" accusations, she stepped off the stage.
"Hello," what I assume is an FBI agent says. "Classes will continue as normal as of today. We need everyone to go back to normal in order to catch the murderer."
"What!?" I ask. "You want us to be your bait!?"
"That's not—"
"Yes, you want more of us to die so you can be a big hero when you catch our killer!?" Sonya joins in. "F*ck yourselves!" Then the whole room dismisses themselves.
Some of us go back to work but most of us stay in our dorms.

The next day, Sonya and I met up with the others in the room we always do.
"There's another meeting later today. The headmistress called one," Levy says.
Jody groans. "I'm so tired of meetings. Why can't we just enjoy our life?"
"I'm with Jody, three people just died and she's asking us to all gather in one room like lambs to the slaughter," I say.
Jody nods his approval.
"There's not much we can do about it now," Rowan, a tall, very muscular, black haired boy with a small scar running across his face, says.
"Whatever," I sigh.
"What if we don't go?" Sonya asks.
"That's smart," I smile, "she won't even notice us gone since there's so many other students."
"Unless they all think that," Hayden, who is laying on the couch, says throwing a small ball up in the air and catching it.
"Nobody asked for your input," I groan.
"You're just mad I'm right," he smirks.
I ignore him and try to think of something else to talk about before being interrupted.
"We should go, maybe she has something important to say. Besides the way people are being killed doesn't match up with us getting killed in a mass shooting or something, this killer likes torture," Hayden says.
"He has a point..." Sam agrees quietly.
"Fine, we'll go to the stupid meeting. If one of you ends up dying, I told you so," I say storming out of the room.
Sonya comes running after me. "You shouldn't be out here alone, you know."
"What do I care?" I ask, a question that doesn't need an answer.
"Stop being a baby because you didn't get your way. Maybe you got your way in the pretty little palace of yours but in this school, in this friend group, you don't get whatever you want because you are a princess. I'm sorry but it has to be said," she says.
I sigh. "Your right. I'm sorry."
"Good," she says with a sigh. "Now let's go back before we get murdered next." She leads me back to the room and, hesitantly, I go in.
"Welcome back, snowflake," Hayden grins without looking at me, only feeding into my embarrassment of having to come back after storming off more.
I try my best to ignore his presence as Sonya and I play go fish with a deck of cards waiting for the stupid meeting to be called.
Once it is, we all leave the room quickly and at the same time. When we make it to the church, where the meetings being held, everyone is already there, taking their seats so we take outs.
"Welcome, students," the headmistress announces to which nobody greets her back. "We've had a bit of a problem with some students not showing up to class, this message will be brief and then you may return to your dorms," she pauses. "If you do not go to all your classes for the rest of the school year, you will not graduate. Thank you." The headmistress leaves the stage.
The crowd boos but there's nothing more we can do.
Like lambs to the slaughter indeed.
