Amelia stepped into the empty hallways of Durmstrang, relishing in the rare opportunity to savor the quietness of the castle. The first rays of sunlight were starting to peek through the windows, casting a soft orange glow on the stone walls. The familiar scent of old books and burning candles filled her nostrils, a comforting aroma that she always associated with the castle.

Her steps became more leisurely as she walked down the corridor, her mind wandering aimlessly. It was a welcome respite from the constant demands of her studies. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, feeling the cool air fill her lungs. As she walked past the Durmstrang crest hanging on the wall, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and belonging. Durmstrang had been her home for so long, and despite its harsh reputation, she wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.

She opened her eyes and continued on her way, taking in the intricate details of the castle's architecture. The stone walls were adorned with intricate carvings and tapestries, depicting the history and legends of the school. She traced her fingers along the patterns, feeling the rough texture beneath her skin. She took a deep breath, enjoying the silence and the sense of solitude that enveloped her.

It was moments like these that made her appreciate the magic and wonder of the wizarding world, and the immense privilege of attending Durmstrang. With a smile on her face, Amelia continued to walk through the empty halls, taking in the beauty of her home.

The peaceful silence was disturbed by a loud crash on an opened window. Amelia turned back to see Viktor dragging an unconscious Danil, blood trickling from his friend's brow. The broom they were on was thrown a few feet away.

Viktor's heart was pounding in his chest as he struggled to carry his injured friend. He couldn't believe they were attacked by Harpies, he had never encountered them before. The memory of the sharp talons almost tearing at his flesh made him shudder. He knew they were lucky to have survived.

"Krum, what happened?" Amelia's voice brought him back to reality.

"Wild Harpies," he grunted in pain. His other hand supported his left side, the other supported his friend. It was harder to breathe with Danil's weight around his shoulder.

"How many were you attacked? Can you remember?" Amelia asked while checking Danil's head. His limp body started to slump down from Viktor.

"3, Lexie alerted the professors," Viktor replied, now breathing heavily. He looked around and realized he was too far from the infirmary.

"Where are you hurt?" Amelia asked Viktor, noticing his ragged breathing and pale complexion.

Viktor winced in pain as he tried to take a deep breath. "Bruised ribs, maybe," he replied, his voice strained.

"Can you manage to walk there?" she asked, concern evident in her voice, as she studied his injuries. He winced as he shifted his weight to try and get more comfortable.

Viktor shook his head no. He felt weak and dizzy, and the pain was becoming unbearable.

Although Viktor was languid he watched in amazement as Amelia pulled out her wand and twirled it once, it elongated and became Durmstrang's staff. He had only seen these staff given to eighth-year students who had passed a series of tests. Earning his, was also a challenge.

She turned her attention to Viktor, now deathly pale from his injuries. "Krum, eyes on me" gently brushing his cheeks. Their eyes met, and for that brief moment, his heart skipped a beat. By the gods, she's beautiful, even her hair looks perfectly disheveled, he thought. Everything was in slow motion, even how she blinked her worried eyes, the way her bangs swayed softly to her face.
