Viktor Krum was sitting by the fireplace, staring into the flames and contemplating whether he should tell Amelia about his feelings before he puts his name on the goblet . He had been harboring feelings for her for some time now, but he was also anxious about the upcoming Triwizard Tournament and didn't want to risk being distracted.

Just as he was about to make up his mind, Karkaroff entered the common room with a smirk on his face. "Ah, Viktor, my boy, I hope you're preparing yourself for the upcoming tournament. It's going to be quite the spectacle, don't you think?" he said, his tone laced with arrogance.

Viktor glared at Karkaroff, not in the mood for his usual condescending remarks. "I am aware of the tournament, Headmaster," he replied curtly.

Karkaroff leaned in closer, his breath reeking of alcohol. "Good. Just remember, I'll be accompanying you when you put your name in the Goblet of Fire. It's a show of power, you understand?" he said, emphasizing the last word.

Viktor clenched his fists, trying to control his anger. He knew Karkaroff's intentions all too well. The man was always looking for ways to assert his authority and influence, even if it meant intruding on his students' personal lives.

Just then Lexie approached him, suggesting that they go together to support him. Danil, who knew about Viktor's feelings for Amelia, tried to give Viktor a knowing look to signal him to take the opportunity to tell her now. But Lexie, oblivious to Viktor's feelings, was too excited about the prospect of watching her friend put his name in the goblet.

As they walked towards the upper deck, Danil couldn't help but tease Lexie, "You do realize that Viktor has a crush on Amelia, right? Maybe you should let him have some alone time with her." Lexie looked at him, puzzled. "What are you talking about? Viktor's just a friend," she said, completely missing the subtext.

Danil sighed and shook his head, wondering how he was going to explain it to her later. Meanwhile, Karkaroff overheard their conversation and glared at them. "I don't care who Viktor has a crush on. The only people coming with us are the ones I've approved," he snapped, making it clear that he was still in charge.

Viktor couldn't believe his luck. His friends were supportive, but it seemed like every time he had a chance to talk to Amelia, something got in the way. Karkaroff's presence and his overbearing behavior certainly didn't help. As Viktor let out a frustrated sigh, he felt a twinge of disappointment that he had missed yet another opportunity to tell Amelia how he truly felt. However, he wasn't the type to give up easily. He hoped that fate would grant him another chance in the future, and he promised himself that he would seize it when the time came. Despite his disappointment, a small glimmer of hope still burned inside him, the hope that perhaps Amelia felt the same way about him. For now, he had to be patient and wait for the right moment to present itself.

"Safer and Hedström, you are coming as well!" Karkaroff shouted.

When Viktor, Amelia, Safer and Karkaroff neared the goblet, the Hogwarts students fell silent, their attention drawn to the Durmstrang delegation. Some of the students whispered and pointed, while others simply gawked at the sight of the famous Bulgarian Seeker.

As Viktor stepped forward to place his name in the Goblet of Fire, Amelia felt Viktor's gaze on her. She met his eyes and offered him a small nod of encouragement.
