Welcome to a new haobin story!! Not sure how often I'll update it, but I hope you like it <3Remember, this is just a fanfic!
-
"Zhang Hao, I'm scared." His little five year old cousin tells him. "And I miss my mommy and daddy." He cries.
"Don't worry, Yujin. I'll get you out of here, okay?" Zhang Hao tells him.
"Do you promise?" He wipes his tears away. "I don't want to be here anymore."
"I promise." Zhang Hao nods. "I promise I'll get you out of here no matter what."
His little cousin ended up in an orphanage since his parents just passed away in an accident. Ever since Yujin was a baby, Zhang Hao has cared a lot about him, so it really hurts him to see him in this place.
"The kids here are so mean to me." He sobs. "I have no friends."
"Don't worry, Yujin. I promised to get you out of here, didn't I?" Zhang Hao asks him and he nods. "Have I ever broken a promise?"
"No." Yujin shakes his head. "Never."
"So what makes you think I'll break this one?" Zhang Hao wipes Yujin's tears away. "No matter what I have to do, I'll get you out of here, okay?"
-
"Mom, are you serious?" Hanbin sighs. "You're drinking again?" He takes the bottle away from her. "Can you stop it already? We barely have any money and you're here wasting the little money we have, on alcohol?"
"We wouldn't have to live this poor life if you just got married." She says, annoyed, then grabs the bottle from him.
"Stop bringing that up." Hanbin rolls his eyes at the thought of ever falling in love again. "And I'm not just going to marry someone to get a few dollars."
"A few dollars?" She laughs. "Your father must've left you a fortune. He was rich."
"Well... I don't know what it is that he left me, so I'm not just going to risk it and get married to find out."
"Whatever." She finishes drinking from the bottle.
"Look, mom... I don't really mind that you just sit here in the house and do nothing, but please stop spending the little money we have... especially on useless things."
"Useless things?" She asks, offended. "This isn't useless."
Hanbin just ignores her and sits at the table, opening the bills that have just arrived in the mail. "What the-" he starts when he sees the bills. His eyes widen and he lets out a sigh. "Mom, did you buy a laptop? I told you not to use that credit card unless it was for an emergency."
"But it was an emergency, son. I had nowhere to watch my favorite dramas."
"Mom, what are you talking about? We don't even have WiFi in this house. That laptop isn't going to work to watch your dramas."
"Oops... I might've gotten that too."
"Are you serious?" Hanbin shakes his head and stands up. He starts walking back and forth, not knowing how he's going to pay all of these bills. "Now what are we going to do, mom? We don't even have money to pay for the rent and now you're telling me you wasted money to buy a laptop and WiFi?"
"This wouldn't be happening if you just got married and claimed your fathers will."
"No, mom... this wouldn't be happening if you would just learn how to save money. We can't just be spending it like this." He rolls his eyes. "And I already told you I'm not going to marry a random person just to inherit money. I don't even know how much money my father left me."
"You're going to get married someday anyway." His mom says. "Why not just get married now and get the money? We wouldn't have to live like this if you did."
"Look, mom... even if I chose to get married, which I probably never will, I wouldn't give you a single penny. So stop being so obsessed with that will!" Hanbin tells her. He hates talking to her like that, but he's had enough.
"How dare you speak to me like that?! I'm your mother and I raised you!"
"Yeah... you clearly just raised me so I could end up inheriting my father's money." Hanbin puts the bills back down on the table and grabs his phone. "I'll see you later." He walks out of the house and starts walking towards his college.
As he's walking, his phone starts ringing and he looks down to see his ex-boyfriend, Matthew, is calling him. He just sighs before putting his phone away, ignoring the call.
"Hanbin! Hey!" He's stopped by his best friend Gyuvin after walking for a few minutes.
"Oh, hey." Hanbin waves at him when he finally notices him standing in front of him.
"What's up with you? You look so distracted."
"Just problems with my mom." He sighs. "She keeps buying useless things even though we barely have any money left. She keeps using the excuse of 'you can get married and inherit your father's money'."
"That's really messed up." Gyuvin frowns. "It's not easy to find someone... especially someone to marry." He especially knows that it won't be easy for Hanbin to fall in love again. He knows just how much his last relationship affected him.
"Yeah, I know." Hanbin nods. "But what about you? I thought you said you liked your co-worker? What was his name again?" Hanbin thinks for a while. "Ricky?"
"Yeah..." Gyuvin nods. "But he has a boyfriend."
"You're interested in someone who has a boyfriend?" Hanbin asks him. "That must suck."
"Shut up." Gyuvin frowns. "That's not helping."
