"Mom, you've got to be kidding me." Hanbin shakes his head and sighs as soon as he gets home. "Give me the credit card back." He extends his hand out so his mom can give it back to him. "You keep spending money on useless things, so please give it back or I'll end up canceling it anyway. It won't work anymore."

"Oh, calm down." She rolls her eyes. "I just spent a few dollars. You're exaggerating."

"Oh really? I'm exaggerating? You keep spending money on things we don't need and now because of you, we have no money left!"

"Just get marr-"

"Can you stop using that same excuse for everything?! If I wanted to get married, you best believe I'd be married by now and wouldn't be living with you anymore." He rolls his eyes and puts the bills down on the table.

He tries to be understanding of why she's like this... of why she drinks... but it gets hard sometimes. His mother had a kid with another man, but hasn't seen him in almost two years. Hanbin has a brother named Gunwook. He's around seven years old by now, but Hanbin hasn't seen him in two years. His mother lost the custody, so she's not able to see him anymore.

As Hanbin's walking towards his room, his phone starts ringing and he sees it's Gyuvin.

"Hey, Gyu." He answers.

"Hey, so I know you said you weren't desperate to marry someone you didn't know, but Ricky called me and told me his friend wants to talk to you."

"About what?" Hanbin asks, confused. "About the marriage?" His eyes widen.

"Yeah, I guess." Gyuvin says. "He's going through a lot and really needs to get married as soon as possible. He wants to adopt his little cousin who's in an orphanage right now."

"Okay, fine." Hanbin gives in. "Tell Ricky  to ask him if he's free tomorrow. I can go talk to him after work."

"Oh, oka-"

"But wait... what?" Hanbin's eyes widen. "Did you just say he wants to adopt a kid?"

"Yes... he wants to adopt his cousin. I think Ricky said he's five."

"So you're trying to tell me that if I marry Ricky's friend, I'll have to adopt a kid? I'll basically become a dad?!"

"Yes, Hanbin... That's exactly what I'm saying. Are you even listening?"

"Okay, I was about to give in, but I had no idea this guy wanted to adopt a kid. I'm not ready for that responsibility. I don't even want to get married... why would I want to adopt a kid too?"

"Oh, come on... it's not like the kid is a little baby that needs you to change his diapers. Even after you adopt him, he'll mainly be at school all day, so what's the problem?"

"Exactly... I'd prefer if he was a little baby. Babies are cute, but once they start growing up, they become more and more annoying."

"He's still little though. He's only five." Gyuvin tells him. "But then... what should I tell Ricky? Are you meeting his friend or not?"

"No... I'll just try finding someone else."

-

"Who can it be?" Hanbin asks as he hears the doorbell. Once he opens the door, he sees the landlord. "Oh, hello." Hanbin bows politely.

"Hello... I came to give you a warning. You have to pay the rent. You haven't paid it in over two months."

"Wh-what? Two months?" Hanbin asks, confused. "That can't be... I gave the money to my mom and she told me she paid you."

"Well, she didn't. I came to talk to you since I know you've always paid me on time. I didn't just want to send you an eviction notice."

"An eviction notice?" Hanbin's eyes widen. "No, sir, there's no need for that. I promise I'll pay you."

"Well, I hope so." He nods. "I'll give you until the end of the month. If you don't pay, expect an eviction notice." He walks out of the house.

"Are you serious?" Hanbin slams the door shut and sits at the table, trying to calm himself down. "How am I supposed to pay for everything all at once? I only have the money I earn from working my two part time jobs, but that's not enough to pay for something I had already supposedly paid for! What am I going to do?" He sighs.
