"Will he even show up?" Ricky asks Gyuvin. "I know there's no feelings involved, but Zhang Hao really wants to adopt his cousin as soon as possible. If Hanbin doesn't show up, he'll have to find someone else and it'll take even more time."I'm sorry. I don't know what's happening. I'll try calling him again." Gyuvin stands up and walks away from him to call Hanbin.
Ricky walks towards Zhang Hao who looks sad. "If he doesn't show up, we'll find someone else, okay?" Ricky tells him. "We'll get Yujin out of the orphanage soon. Don't worry, Hao." He pulls him in for a hug. Zhang Hao just nods, not saying anything.
"Sorry I'm late!" Hanbin comes rushing into the room, out of breath. "This place was a little too far from my house." He tries catching his breath.
"Hanbin! Why didn't you answer my calls?" Gyuvin asks him. "We thought you weren't showing up anymore."
"Sorry, my phone died." He tells him before walking over to Zhang Hao. "I'm sorry I'm late."
"It's fine." Zhang Hao tells him as Ricky walks back towards Gyuvin.
As they're about to start the wedding, there's a knock on the door and Zhang Hao's eyes widen when he sees Yujin. "Yujin? What are you doing here?" He asks as he rushes towards him. A worker from the orphanage is next to him.
"I came to your wedding." Yujin tells him like it's obvious.
"What? But how did you-"
"Ricky here told me that you'd be getting married today. Since you and Yujin are so close and you're planning to adopt him, we thought it'd be a good idea to bring him here." The worker tells him.
"Oh..." Zhang Hao just nods. Of course Ricky said something.
"So this is Yujin?" Hanbin smiles as he looks down at the little boy. "Hi, I'm Hanbin."
"Yes I'm Yujin." He nods. "You're Hao's boyfriend?" He asks and Hanbin and Zhang Hao just glance at each other before looking back a Yujin.
"Yeah... well... I'll be his husband in a few minutes." Hanbin tells him, making Zhang Hao feel his face heating up.
"Cool! I had never met any of Zhang Hao's boyfriends!" Yujin tells him. "I don't think he had any-"
"Yujin, what are you saying?" Zhang Hao nervously laughs and covers Yujin's mouth so he can stop talking.
"Alright, let's get started."
-
After their 'I do's, Zhang Hao's eyes widen when he realizes they have to kiss. "You may now kiss." They're told. They can't just say no since the orphanage worker is right there. They have to make their relationship seem real.
Hanbin looks up at Zhang Hao, not sure of what to do. He hadn't kissed anyone since he broke up with Matthew, so he really wouldn't want to this right now, but the worker is right there. They have to make their relationship seem believable or she'll know something's up. They wouldn't let them adopt Yujin if they knew this was all fake.
Ricky and Gyuvin glance at each other, then back at Zhang Hao and Hanbin. Ricky will definitely get in trouble with Hao for telling the worker about it. It just kind of slipped, but he didn't think she'd come and bring Yujin too.
Since Hanbin's just nervously looking down, Zhang Hao gets the courage to cup his face. He needs to adopt Yujin, so he needs to make the worker think this is real. Zhang Hao leans in, connecting his lips to Hanbin's. Ricky gasps, but quickly plays it off with a cough.
'Since when did Zhang Hao get so much courage to do these things? He must really want to adopt Yujin.' Ricky thinks to himself.
Hanbin kisses Zhang Hao back once he realizes what's happening. It'd look worse if he just stood there doing nothing.
Without realizing it, Zhang Hao gets a little too into the kiss, remembering when they kissed for the first time. "Yay! Does this mean I'm going to live with you two?" Yujin asks them, making them pull away.
"Yes you will." Zhang Hao nods. "We'll bring you home sooner than you think, okay?"
"Yujin, could you go with Ricky please?" The worker asks him and he nods before rushing over to Gyuvin and Ricky.
"Ricky!" He jumps into his arms.
"Oh, you finally notice me?" Ricky asks him.
"Sorry." He pouts. "I was happy Hao was getting married."
"Of course you were." Ricky smiles and pats his head.
"Are you Ricky's boyfriend?" Yujin asks Gyuvin. "He told me he has a boyfriend, but I still don't meet him."
"What? Oh, no. I'm his friend." Gyuvin tells him, feeling his face heat up.
"Yujin, this is Gyuvin. He's my friend. I'll let you meet my boyfriend Jiwoong soon, okay? Once you live with Zhang Hao, we'll be seeing each other more often, okay?"
"Really? That sounds fun." Yujin tells him. "Will we be able to go to the park and get ice cream?"
"Oh, of course. We'll be able to go anywhere without permission. We can even go to an amusement park or to the zoo."
"Will Gyuvin come along?" Yujin points at him. "I want all five of us to go."
"Of course. If Gyuvin accepts to go, we can all go." Ricky nods. "But could I invite Jiwoong too?"
"We'll see." Yujin tells him.
"I know you're very close to Yujin, but still... we need to do our job and make sure you two are qualified to become his parents." The worker tells Zhang Hao and Hanbin.
"Qualify?" Zhang Hao asks her. He hadn't thought about anything else other than the marriage. What are the other requirements then?
"What are the requirements?" Hanbin asks her as if he just read his mind.
"Well, we need to make sure the parents will give him all the love he needs. We need to make sure he has a good home and that you are financially stable to raise him." She tells them.
Zhang Hao hadn't thought about that. He's a broke college student now that Yujin's parents passed away.
"We're financially stable." Zhang Hao tells her. "And we'll make sure to give him all the love he needs."
"That's good to hear. He's already gone through a lot at a very young age. He deserves all the love in the world. He's a very bright child." The worker tells him. "But at the end, that decision won't be up to me."
Zhang Hao feels his heart beating faster. Does this mean that if they don't meet all the requirements, getting married will become a mistake?
"We'll get going now. Yujin come say goodbye." She tells him and Yujin rushes back towards Zhang Hao and Hanbin.
"Bye, Hao." He waves at him. "I'm so happy I'll be able to live with you again soon."
"Yeah, sooner thank you think." Zhang Hao nods and kisses his forehead. "I promise."
"Bye, Hanbin." Yujin waves at him. "I'm happy Hao has a boyfriend now." He tells him. "No, wait... a husband." He giggles before waving at them and walking away with the worker.
Zhang Hao sighs as soon as they walk out. What is he going to do now? He's not financially stable at the moment. He really hadn't thought this through. It's like he thought only marriage was the requirement.
"Is everything okay?" Hanbin asks him, noticing something's bothering Zhang Hao.
"It's kind of embarrassing." Zhang Hao tells him. Yes, they're married now, but it's all fake at the end of the day. He still doesn't trust him to be telling him everything.
"Is this about the requirements?" Hanbin asks him. "It's okay. I'll be able to buy a house soon."
"What? No, there's no need for you to spend your money on us. This is all fake after all." Zhang Hao tells him.
"I know it is." Hanbin nods. "But I think that for Yujin's sake, we need to do everything we can to make sure we're able to adopt him."
"But why are you-"
"Like you said... this marriage is fake." He whispers. "But we signed a contract after all. It said we'll adopt Yujin, so that's what we're going to do. I don't break my promises."
