Staring at the window blankly, the drive was faster than i thought it would have been. Ten minutes later, We arrived at the apartment complex. I got out and paid the cab driver. I watched him drive away as I was reaching out to the pack of cigarette in my pocket.I took one out. I looked around; the night was peaceful, with stars in the sky. I lit the cigarette up.

My thoughts were still tormenting me. I moved the cigarette to my lips and breath it in. The more i inhale, the more i was thinking about her, what she was doing right now.

It was years since i did not smoke. I never thought that ; that lighter and cigarette pack i keep in my desk would have been in handy...i never thought...Right now, I don't know how to feel

I can't even tell my best friend and colleague, Steven, What is bothering me, what is on my mind and confess to him my emotions about what is going on. I took out my phone from my backpack. He sent me a message asking , If i was okay because he saw me smoking my emergency cigarette pack.

I looked at the message. He was worried about me, but, i could not tell him a thing. I responded to his text while moving up the stairs saying,

'' Hey buddy, I just needed a little distraction since i have been so down lately. Don't worry.''
