Franklin wakes with a jolt and finds himself laying on a bed in what looked like some kind of church. After sitting up, he finds himself dehydrated as he grabs his throat and gently rubs it. He then notices around five or six cups of water on the stand next to the bed. He then quickly downs the water through his throat one by one until all the cups were empty. He then decides to walk out of the church.
Meanwhile, the gravekeeper from earlier that day can be seen standing before a tombstone as he looks at his pocket watch before closing it up. He then looks towards the tombstone and it says 'Carter Slade, Into paradise may the angels lead you'. At this point, Franklin has already walked out of the church. Looking around the graveyard, he finds the gravekeeper and walks over to him. The gravekeeper notices him and intercepts his path.
"You alright?" The gravekeeper asks.
"Yeah I'm good. I feel like my skull is on fire but I'm good and thanks for the water. Have you seen my bike?" Franklin says.
Franklin then notices the gravekeeper has a grin on his face.
"Did I say something funny?" Franklin asks.
"How ironic. We're big on irony around here. It's out by the shed." The gravekeeper says, pointing towards the shed that's near the church.
"Thanks." Franklin says before walking towards the shed.
"It does." The gravekeeper says which stops Franklin in his tracks and he then turns towards him.
"What?" Franklin asks.
"Wondering if your bike looks normal? It does." The gravekeeper says.
Franklin is left confused as to what the gravekeeper just said.
"And to answer your other question, what happened last night really did happen. It wasn't a dream. And it will happen again." The gravekeeper explains.
"Who are you?" Franklin asks.
"Question is... Who are you?" The gravekeeper asks.
Franklin, not wanting to hear more, decides to walk towards his motorcycle.
"You're the rider. The Ghost Rider!" The gravekeeper calls out as Franklin walks off.
"Get used to it kid. It'll be a lot easier! The daughter got a nice cozy spot picked out for you!" The gravekeeper calls out.
Seeing how Franklin wasn't going to listen, the gravekeeper decides to follow him. Opening the shed doors, Franklin finds his motorcycle and drags it out. As he drags the motorcycle through a path, the gravekeeper walks beside him.
"I've seen you now. They'll be waiting for you. If you need my help, expect to last the night." The gravekeeper says.
"Last time I let a stranger help me, it didn't pan out so good." Franklin says as he starts up his motorcycle.
"This ain't something you can run from, kid." The gravekeeper says before Franklin begins to ride off.
"They have been coming since you made that deal!" The gravekeeper calls out.
Hearing about the deal made Franklin stop his bike and turn towards the gravekeeper. He then turns off his motorcycle, now wanting to listen.
"Congratulations, your chances just went from none to slim." The gravekeeper says.
Meanwhile, Metropolis Reporter Lois Lane is conducting a news report regarding the mysterious deaths that have been occurring due to blackheart's arrival. Currently, she is at the train yard where Ghost Rider killed Gressil.
