Chapter 15: Ghost Rider vs The Al Ghuls

Back in the Ashkiri temple, Ra's Al Ghul can be seen standing over the still unconscious Barbara Gordon. He stands with a look insinuating that he is in deep thought.

"I don't understand why Blaze would risk everything he has to save you. While I admire his dedication, in the end, it will only end in tragedy when he is forced to make the greatest of sacrifices." Ra's Al Ghul says.

Talia Al Ghul then approaches him.

"He truly does love her, father. To this day. I still wonder if Bruce ever cared for me to the extent Franklin does for her." Talia Al Ghul wonders.

Ra's Al Ghul looks at his daughter as his expression turns to a more stern tone as they exit the room.

"If Batman truly did love you, he would've never denied his destiny and join us. But that no longer matters. As Franklin shall take his place, whether it's by choice... or by force." Ra's Al Ghul says.

"I understand, father. Still though, I believe that no matter the outcome, he will still resist." Talia Al Ghul points out.

"I'm counting on it." Ra's Al Ghul says.

A bang at the door then gains their attention. They then unsheathe their swords, ready to face down whatever may enter the doorway. A second bang then rings, this one managing to stir Batgirl out of unconsciousness, trying to get a bearing as to where she is. A third bang then hits before the door gives out and is knocked out of its hinges, falling to the floor as a result. The Al Ghuls glare down the darkened entrance as one of their ninjas limp their way into the room. This leaves the Al Ghuls in a state of confusion as a long chain suddenly wraps around the ninja's torso. The ninja desperately reaches out towards the Al Ghuls before being pulled back into the darkness. Shortly afterwards, the sound of a bone being broken can be heard followed by a loud thud. Suddenly, a pair of glowing, fiery eyes pierce through the darkness, glaring into the room. The Al Ghuls remain motionless, their swords still aimed at the doorway as they can feel the eyes almost like they were glaring into their own souls. This was something Ra's has never experienced throughout his six hundred years of life and although he would never admit it, it truly terrified him. The eyes then grow closer as the silhouette of a man appears. The man then walks into the room, revealing Franklin Blaze, his eyes glowing with rage and fury. In his hands lie his shotgun and chain, the chain covered in red stains, presumed to be blood. Seeing who it is, a grin appears on Ra's Al Ghuls' face.

"I knew you'd make it this far, Franklin Blaze." Ra's Al Ghul says.

"Cut the bullshit, Ra's. WHERE IS SHE?!" Franklin demands.

"Franklin?" Batgirl asks.

Franklin turns to see Batgirl strapped down to the table. He then rushes to her when a giant gate slams down, blocking Franklin's path. He slams his fist twice into the gate but it refuses to budge. He then turns towards Ra's Al Ghul and Talia.

"I have spent nearly twelve hours with your so called 'challenges' and I'm not gonna let the likes of you stop me from getting her out of here." Franklin says.

"And in time, you will. But now, it is time for your final challenge." Ra's Al Ghul says.

The Al Ghuls then raise their swords and aim them towards Franklin who remains unfazed.

"Listen Franklin... and listen well. You will kill me. You will lead the league of assassins. Because if you do not join us, I will kill the only person you have ever loved." Ra's Al Ghul says.

Franklin then grits his teeth as his head tilts, seemingly trying to hold back his anger. After a moment, he takes a deep breath and glares at the Al Ghuls. He turns to see a small table and places down his shotgun. He then takes his chain and hang it onto a metal beam hanging from the ceiling. He then looks to a rack of weapons standing beside the nearby wall and takes a sword.
