CHAPTER 40 - CORE ENERGY

Dayu is speechless at the huge door in front of him. When he looks clearly at the door, he sees the carvings of Dragon and Phoenix. The carving is so life like that Dayu keep on staring and appreciating it. He even run his fingers through them to feel the lifelike carving. With a bit of push, the door opens. Blinding light shines through the door which makes Dayu covers his eyes for a moment before opening them again.

Then he sees the inside. What he sees is a huge room which looks like a bedroom. There’s a huge bed in the middle with the canopies as well as carvings of dragons and phoenixes. On the right of the bed is a huge cupboard with rows of books and reading chair. At the front of the bed are a few chairs and coffee table. Then at the back of the bed, is the wardrobe and there is a lot of clothes which in a grand style like kings and queens are wearing.

Looking through all these, Dayu was really speechless and astonish at the grand settings of the room. Then he felt a tug. He follows the tug in his heart, and it led him to an altar on the left side of the bed. The altar is just the size of an adult human. Dayu went over to the altar. As he stood in front of the altar, he observed the carving of a diagram. From the way its carved, it looks like the trigrams used in ancient times. Dayu ran his fingers on it and suddenly, the trigram lights up. After lighting up, a pearl shows its appearance. The pearl is not as big as Qing's, but it’s the size of two adult fists. On the pearl, there’s also the same carving of dragon and phoenix dancing together in a lotus flame of purple and red much like the carving.  The carving was life like that he thought it was moving. It was so beautiful and impactful.

Dayu reach out his hand over to the pearl. He felt a sting on his fingers. He looks over it and saw the carving on his ring finger. He also felt the longing and the urge to search for his mate. He was in a trance for a while before he snaps out of it. Then Dayu sees that the pearl is gone. Dayu felt weird but he just thinks nothing of it. Then Dayu browse the room and stops at the books. He browses the titles on the books and took out a book with title of ‘The Core Energy’.

Dayu begin reading the book. In the book, it says that Core Energy is the purest energy that is sealed in everyone. But not everyone is able to tap into it. The core energy also varies in strength and purity. According to it, the strength of a core energy comes from the race as well as their compatibility. The lower the race, the lower the strength of the energy but sometimes, in a lower race, there is also special cases where the compatibility is high which makes the energy strength high. In terms of purity, it depends on the purity of the races, which comes back to the origin of each race. When someone manages to tap into their Core Energy, they will get an unimaginable power.

Dayu is shocked by the revelation, and this got him interested. He keeps on reading the book for half a day. Then he realized that he had gone in for quite a while. Dayu put the book back and begin roaming the room. After he finishes doing this, Dayu walks out the door. His consciousness went back as before and Dayu is out again. He checks his body condition and also his power. Everything seems fine, then he saw the engraving on his ring finger. He keeps on looking at his ring finger in deep thought, when Linda jolt him back.

“Dayu! You alright? What are you thinking about?”

“Nothing!.... Oh right! When I was in my core, I found a huge door and when I open the door, there seems to be another space in it. There’s a room and also a lot of books. But not all the books I can read. Only some of it. Do you have a space like mine?”

“Huh?? Dayu, are you sure of it?”

“Yes! Why?”

“Dayu.... I think you need to ask Spark about it.”

“Alright!”

“Spark, what do you think?”

“That is a symbol of one inheritance. Only a few chosen ones are eligible to have inheritance. Each inheritance is different as each with a different purpose. Inheritance means that a calamity is bound to happen and it will be the worst of the worst of calamity. The chosen ones will be fated to face the calamity but, there are also some chosen ones who uses it for evil. There are many things that I can’t reveal to you yet as you are not ready yet. So, Dayu, what will be your choice?”

“Will the calamity destroy everything?”

“Perhaps.....”

“…...... Then, I want to save everyone. I know that I'm an orphan, but I receive a lot of love and care from everyone. I want to protect them, this kingdom, this village which is my home. I choose to protect and face the calamity!”

“GOOD!!! Then we can start training with this mindset of yours! Remember to stick to what you believe and fulfill your fate.”
