CHAPTER 20 - REVEAL

The next morning, I woke up before the sun rises. I'm very excited to go for my training with The Great Dragon. After I had my morning bath and ready myself, I went down to eat breakfast with my family.

"Are you ready Qing?" my father asked.

"Yes father! I am ready and I can't wait to train!"

"Yes! I can see it in your eyes. Remember Qing, this is The Great Dragon we are talking about here. Train well and listen well too. Improve your skills in any way possible. It's for your own good."

"Yes father! I will! I am doing this for my own good and also for the good of the kingdom. I will train well in both aspects, as the future king and also as the protector."

"Good! Yu, how about you? Are you ready for your training as well?"

"Yes father! I am ready. I have already discuss my schedule with the general so that I can start training from the lowest as a soldier. I want to train my body and mind so I can become stronger and gain respect from my fellow soldiers."

"Good for you! That is a clever way to train yourself. Good. You can proceed. I will give you my letter of approval to the general so you can start your training. But remember Yu, there will be no mercy. I will not let you have special treatment just because you are a prince. Alright!?"

"Yes father. I also agree. I don't want to be treated as special just because I'm a prince. I want them to judge me as a person, me, not as the title of a prince."

"Good! This way you can see how your people view you and you can also find the people that you yourself trust wholeheartedly to hold on to your secrets. You could not gain trust just by your title, trust is earn if you are worthy of it. Remember that Yu."

"Yes father."

"Right! I have finish my breakfast so I'm going to get ready and go now father. Can't let The Great Dragon wait for me. I already inform it that I will start my training today."

"Right! You may be excuse Qing. Good luck with your training."

"Thank you father. Good day to you father, mother, Yuge, and Jie. I will be back during lunch." I bow down in curtesy.

I went outside the palace and shift into my dragon form. I fly off the palace ground and straight away contact The Great Dragon. The Great Dragon awaits me at the Dragon Peak Mountain due East from the palace.

I quickly flew there. While flying, I was thinking of going to the village where I sense something. I flew over to the village before going to the Dragon Peak. As I arrive there, I could not sense anything. I wait for a few minutes but nothing. I decided to fly off to the mountain and start my training.

"How's the flying my prince?"

"It's fine. You can just call me Qing your highness. I will be your student. Please take care of me." I bow my head as respect towards The Great Dragon.

"Raise your head Qing. I will call you Qing and you can also stop calling me 'your highness' you can just call me Reed. That is my real name."

"Alright your hig-... I mean Reed. It's going to be awhile to get use too. So what is my first lesson?"

"Hehe...... You are eager to learn. I will explain to you what you will be learning and what to expect. I hope you listen well as the training is going to be hard."

"Yes Reed! I am listening."

"Good! This is how we are going to train!" Reed explain it to me on his plan to train me.

The plan is very thorough. As I was listening to them, I was very impressed. Reed's plan could make me stronger in a short time although I need all the experience I can get to improve my skills.

"The first lesson is easy. We will introduce ourselves... get to know each other so we can see our compatibility to work with each other."

"Sure! I'm alright with it."

"By introducing yourself, I mean all of it. Every secrets you have ever kept before. You have to reveal them all. I can always tell if you are lying or not."

"So....."

"Alright! I will tell you everything about me!"

"Alright! You may start."

I introduce myself to Reed. I tell him my background ever since I can remember them. Even my secrets that I kept to myself. The quarrels that I had with my siblings or my parents, I reveal them all to Reed. As I was revealing my life story, there is still one incident that I'm hesitating to tell.

"What is wrong Qing? Is that all the story!? I can sense that you still have something that you hide."

"Uhm...... actually, a few days before my birthday celebration, the day I sneak out from the castle, something happen. As I was flying above the villages, I caught a scent."

"A scent?"

"Yes! The scent pulled me to land at one of the village. I landed at the village field and started searching for the scent. But the scent is not so strong so I was moving around trying to catch the scent but I have been searching for a few hours but to no avail."

"You can't find the scent. What happen when you catch the scent? I want to know how you feel."

"The scent actually makes me go crazy. It pulls me like a magnet and after I went back to the castle, I was having this longing. It was like I was longing for the owner of that scent. I couldn't go to sleep, I just keep on thinking about that scent."

"What did you do then when you have this longing?"

"Since I was grounded for 3 days in my room because I sneak out, I couldn't do anything about it. I was starting to forget about it, but then, during my celebration, when they serve the food, I caught the scent again. It was faint but it was there. But because the celebration is for me and my brother, I just shrugged it off. Now, I could still feel the tugging in my heart."

"Based on what you are telling me, I can safely conclude that that scent is from your fated mate. Let me tell you beforehand that us the dragon species can only mate with other dragons but if what you are telling is the truth than you are a special case. Because as far as I know, there is no other dragon shifters other than you. Then I guess your fated mate is not of the dragon species. It might be a human like you or other species. You have to find it!"
