CHAPTER 33 - SPELLS

The Barrier Head Quarters

“CASTERS! Gather around! This is an ancient spell that can help our barrier to detect any black magic and block them! But not everyone can use it! I need all the elders to use this spell and apply to our barrier! And we will teach the young ones how to use this spell in case something happens! But the training will be harsh! Brace yourself! Now get going!” said Lord Zhang to his subordinates.

Everyone quickly went into position to start the incantation. The elders started to chant the spell. As they were chanting, they can feel a great number of energy and power being drain out of them. They know that this spell is really powerful. At the same time, in the potion lab of Wizardries….

“Everyone! I need two teams! One team will handle the healing potion of black magic! The other team will handle the potion to neutralized black magic! Everyone understands! Now get to your stations!” said Lord Wu.

“Yes, Lord Wu!” everyone hurries and quickly to their station.

“Almost forgot! I will be chanting the spells! I want all of you to know the recipe of the potions! Remember it by heart!”

“Yes, Lord Wu!” everyone said in unison.

Everyone who specialize in healing powers start making the potions by following the recipes. They do it meticulously as this is an important potion. Ever since the news about black magic attack, the kingdom has tightened their security. They are taking all the precautions to keep the people of Roselia Kingdom safe.

After a couple of days, Lord Zhang manage to acquire Linda’s address from Dr. Phil. At first, Dr. Phil is reluctant to give him Linda’s address because he already sworn to secrecy since Linda is still training Dayu, and Dayu doesn’t want to attract attention of anyone.

When Lord Zhang said that the Great Dragon is the one that asks for it, he was baffled. He asks Lord Zhang the reason behind it and Lord Zhang explain to him. After hearing the reason, Dr. Phil quickly wrote down Linda’s address to Lord Zhang.

After Lord Zhang has left his clinic, Dr. Phil quickly contact Linda through Chip and told her about it. As expected, Linda was furious with him, but she listens to the whole story and agreed.

Then, Linda told Dayu about it. And Linda said to him not to come for a few days. As Dayu was about to agree, Sparks interfere. Sparks is the name that Dayu gave to his inner power. It’s easier to have a name to be called. Sparks said that it wants to meet with the Great Dragon. So, Dayu will meet with the Great Dragon too.

Then, the day for the Great Dragon to arrive at Linda’s has come. It was a Thursday morning.

“Dayu, later on when the Great Dragon arrive, you must show him respect by bow down to him like you are showing courtesy to the king and queen! Alright!?”

“Why do I have to bow down to him?”

“Because, the Great Dragon is the king of all mythical and magical beings! Just like the King is your leader and protector, the Great Dragon is ours! So, we showed him our respects by bowing down to him!”

“Ooohhhh……….. alright I will Linda! Thanks for telling me since I’ve never meet him before. I only know him from stories!”

“it’s alright Dayu…. The Great Dragon only appears in certain occasions only! So, brace yourself! He’s about to arrive in a few minutes!”

“He’s here! Brace yourself!” the Great Dragon has arrived and taking a spot to land.

“Your majesty! Welcome to my humble home.”

“Rise! Thank you! You are Linda, right?”

“Yes, your majesty! And this is Feng Jian Yu but you may call him Dayu!”

“Your majesty!” said Dayu.

“You may rise! I sensed a familiar power within you, Dayu! You have the ancient power, don’t you? Not Linda!” ask Reed.

“Y-yes, your majesty! H-how do you know?”

“I can sense it, Dayu! I am one of the oldest generations that knew of dark magic and light magic, Dayu! Now I need you to tell me, how did you have this power? Were you born with it, or someone teach you?”

“U-umm…….”
[“Dayu! Switch with me! Let me talk to him!” Sparks intercepts. “Alright!”] They switch places. Sparks is now taking over Dayu’s body. Reed felt the surging of power within Dayu coming out.

“Hello Reed! Remember me?” Sparks ask.

“Y-your excellency!!!” Reed said and giving a bow. Linda was shocked to see that the Great Dragon bow before Dayu.

“You may rise, Reed!”

“Thank you, Your Excellency! I’m very glad that I can meet you again! B-but how??”

“I’m always around Reed! Staying dormant inside every living thing there is! Do you remember what I said all those years ago?”

“Yes! You said you will be dormant and keep watch of everything, but when the…… time comes…… you will be awakened! So, it’s true then?! Seeing as you have awakened, the time has come!”

“Yes, Reed! The time is near! You have felt that dark magic again doesn’t you! The recent event is only the start! The main force is still out of reach! I can sense it a little, but without my full power, I can’t locate the main source!”

“Why? How do you awaken your full power? Maybe I can help!”

“I can’t make Dayu awaken my full power yet! He is not ready! The other heir has already awoken right! I was awoken the same time HE is awoken! Train the prince hard Reed! He is the one that will awaken me to my full power! You do know what I mean by that..!! But Dayu is not ready to meet him yet! There will be disaster if they are not ready!”

“Yes, Your excellency! I’m training him hard! When do you think they will meet?”

“I will let nature takes it course when I know Dayu is ready! For now, we must keep them apart! Remember Reed! Never let them meet no matter what until Dayu is ready! He might go dark! When that happens, it will be doom for us all!”

“Yes, Your Excellency! I will remember that!”

“Good! Linda!”

“Y-yes….”

“I need you to keep what we talk about a secret from Dayu! He must not know! Right now, he’s asleep within by my power! So, he doesn’t know!”

“Y-yes! I will! I promise!”

“Good! Now, you may go back Reed! Heed my warnings and my order Reed! NEVER let them meet! Make sure you erase Dayu’s scent of your body or the young prince might be searching! And please tell your prince to stop his search every morning and lunch time! It’s hard enough to prevent them from meeting!”

“What will I tell him if he asks WHY?”

“It’s alright! Here! Take this amulet! It has Dayu’s essence in it! With this, he will feel like Dayu is near him so he won’t search for him! He will stay calm and not restless! You can just say that the spoken time is near and he need to focus on his training more! Dayu also need to focus on his training! The time is near! We need to hurry and make sure they are ready!”

“Yes, Your Excellency! I will heed your warnings and order! I will be going back now!”

“And Linda! I need you to warn the king to keep a close eye on the situation happening in the kingdom! There will be a second wave of black magic soon! Tell them to be alert at all times! And this! You need too give to the King yourself! Tell him to open it when he truly is in dire need of help! It can only be used once so make sure he only opens it when he really needed it! Understand! Remember! You have to give it to him yourself!”

“Yes, Sparks! Oops! Sorry, Your excellency!”

“It’s alright Linda! You’re my friend too! You can just call me Sparks!” Sparks smile at Linda.

“Phew! I thought I have to be polite with you from now on Sparks! You had me there! Hehehe…….” Linda chuckle.

“Hehe….. I guess I will wake Dayu up now! Remember, keep it a secret from Dayu!”

“Alright! See you again later Sparks! Bye!”

“Bye!” Sparks wake Dayu up and return Dayu back to his body.

“What did I miss?!”

“Nothing Dayu! You did not miss anything!”

“Oh! Where’s the Great Dragon?!”

“He went back already!”

“Huh?! I never even said good bye to him!”

“It’s alright Dayu! You will see him again next time, eventually!”

“Oh well, alright! So, what do we do now?!”

“Let’s continue with your training!”

“Okay!”
