Chapter 9

"Mirae someone's here to see you"

Mirae heard her mother say. Thinking that it was probably one of her friends Mirae got out of the comfortable position she was in and headed to the living room. But instead of one of her friends, there was someone else standing there, someone she had never even thought could come over.

"Logan?"

Mirae said still not believing that it was the person who she had gotten so close to few years back and saw him as an older brother was back.

"Hello to you too Mirae"

Logan said with a smile as soon as she saw Mirae.

"Are you back because you heard what happened to Rona, because this time if you're going to out who did I'll join you and I'll kill that person myself there's no way that person will be allowed to run free, but you know I might have an idea who it is actually there could be two people who..."

Mirae started but was interrupted by Logan.

"Did you not miss me at all?"

"Why would I miss you? You didn't even try to contact me at all. Am I supposed to miss someone who doesn't care?"

Mirae said with a slight pout.

"I'm sorry about that, I was too busy"

Logan said the smile still on his face.

"Well I was also too busy to miss you"

Mirae said the pout turning into a glare.

"Well how could I make it up to you?"

"You could find out who is behind all that happened"

"What if I tell you I already know who it is?"

"Is it Ha Eunbyeol?"

Logan's smile disappeared as soon as he heard those words leave Mirae's mouth.

"Why do you say that?"

"Multiple reasons, tell me am I right?"

Mirae said and knew she was right when she saw the look on Logan's face. Logan was about to speak up when Mirae's phone started to ring. Mirae looked at Logan silently excusing herself for a minute.

"Mirae ah, are you free?"

Mirae heard Seokhoon's worried voice from the other side. Hearing Seokhoon say that always meant something bad had happened.

"What happened is everything alright?"

"Seokyungs being taken away for trying to murder Bae Rona"

"Where did that idea even come from?"

"They found the trophy in her locker I think"

"I'll be right there"

Mirae said before cutting the call.

"Logan I have to go somewhere for now, but this talk will continue later"

Mirae said before grabbing her coat and running out leaving Eun Sook and Logan surprised.

"It can't be Joo Seokyung"

Mirae said to the detective as soon as she entered the station and spotted her best friend. She noticed Oh Yoon Hee standing and greeted her by bowing a little.

"Look at this picture it was taken minutes before the announcement, look Seokyungs right there in the picture so how could she have done it, the only people missing in this picture are Rona and Eunbyeol, shouldn't you be looking more into that"

Mirae said showing her phone to the officers. They nodded. Seokyung was allowed to go as her fingerprints weren't found on the trophy and Mirae had shown some proof of her innocence.

"Thanks Mirae for saying that"

Seokyung said to Mirae pulling her in a side hug.

"I had to that, I don't get why they don't look for actual suspects"

Mirae rolled her eyes. To her it was pretty obvious it wasn't Seokyung as Seokyung was next to her almost the entire time. She wondered if the officers would look into the fact that Eunbyeol was nowhere to be seen before the announcement and during the announcement.

Mirae loved the feeling that she felt while sitting on Seokhoons motorcycle. She wished she could take off the helmet and feel the wind hit her face but Seokhoon would never allow that. Seokhoon had called Mirae outside to take her on a ride to clear her thoughts a little. After the two reached the bank of Han River, they got off the motorcycle and went to sit near the river.

"Seokhoon ah do you believe Mr. Park did that to Rona?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon as the two sat down.

"I don't think so"

Seokhoon said looking at Mirae who was looking ahead at nothing in particular.

"I can't believe that she's gone, how could she just leave? She doesn't even know she won, who could be so cruel?

Mirae said after a few minutes of silence before slowly breaking down in tears. Seokhoon gently grabbed her in a hug letting her cry in his shoulder. He knew Rona's death affected Mirae a lot. He hoped she would be okay soon. He knew it would take a lot of time but he was ready to be there for her for as long as it takes her to feel better.

After crying for a few minutes, Mirae broke the hug and looked at Seokhoon with watery eyes.

"Seokhoon ah, I'm going to find out who actually killed Bae Rona, will you help me find out who did it?"

Mirae said wiping the tears of her face before speaking. Seokhoon looked at the girl knowing she won't stop if he said no. He believed it was better if he was with her in whatever she planned to ensure she's safe and nothing happens to her.

"Of course" He said smiling a little hoping to get her to smile as well.

"Thank you"

Mirae said. She was indeed very grateful to have a friend like Seokhoon.

"Anytime"

Seokhoon said before lying down on the grass. Mirae followed suit as the two silently looked at the stars above them. Or that was what Mirae thought. As Mirae was too busy looking at the stars above, Seokhoon was looking at Mirae with a small smile on his face. He now truly knew how he felt about the girl and was dying to tell her. Originally he had planned to tell her after the competition but that turned out to be the wrong time. He knew right now was the wrong time but it didn't matter, as much as he wanted to tell her as soon as possible he could also wait for her as long as it took her to feel better. For now he wanted to stay by her side and protect her from any harm.
