Chapter 17

"You can tell them, tell them everything"

Seokhoon said to Rona who was clearly hesitating on mentioning his fathers name while being questioned. Mirae also gave her an encouraging smile as Rona finally spoke up. Mirae had to admit the plan Shim Suryeon came up with was bizarre and all but the way it played out was perfect. There wasn't a single mistake or loophole thankfully.

"You're finally going to tell her how you feel?"

Mirae asked Logan once she saw him coming in the hospital to check on Shim Suryeon.

"Are you going to finally tell Seokhoon how you feel?"

Logan asked the girl back.

"There's nothing-"

"Yeah sure sure, I need to go now"

Logan said patting Mirae's head before leaving to go do what he came for. Mirae glared at him but the glare turned into a smile when she saw Seokhoon walking towards her.

"I just called Seokyung to come meet her"

Seokhoon said referring to the twin's mother.

"I can't wait to see her reaction, she'll be so happy"

Mirae said smiling. Seokyung had definitely not been the same ever since the 'death' of Shim Suryeon, Mirae wondered if the old Seokyung will be back after finding out the news but then again some scars don't heal and stay there slowly fading away. It might take time, maybe a lot of time, but Mirae knew she'd meet a better Seokyung soon.

"Are you okay?"

Mirae asked Seokhoon wondering how he was taking the news of his father getting arrested for murder.

"Yeah I believe he should face the punishment for the sins he committed, don't worry I'm really fine"

Seokhoon assured Mirae when he saw he worried look not leaving her face.

"Let's go outside and wait for Seokyung she'll be here soon"

Seokhoon ruffled Mirae's hair and the two headed outside while Mirae was complaining to Seokhoon about ruining her hair.

Mirae watched the scene in front of her trying hard not to cry. Seokyung had just met her mother again and that didn't make Mirae upset or anything it was just so touching that tears had started to gather in the corner of her eyes. Seokhoon noticed this and went closer to hold her hand. Mirae looked up at Seokhoon confused why he suddenly held her hand but the boy wasn't looking at her. He was looking at the scene in front of him with not much emotion on his face.

"You two knew and you didn't think it was important to tell me?"

Seokyung asked the two after they had left the twins' mother's room.

"I did tell you didn't I?"

Seokhoon said referring to the call he made earlier telling Seokyung about their mother.

"As my twin brother and best friend you both should have told me as soon as you saw her"

Seokyung continued to glare at the two. Mirae didn't know what to say because she knew that they were indeed in the wrong this time. Maybe they should have told her before. But then they were told not to tell anyone so it wasn't fully their fault.

"Come on let's go get milkshakes, Seokhoon will pay"

Mirae said wrapping her arm around Seokyung.

"Why will I pay?"

Seokhoon protested as he heard Mirae's words.

"Because you lost the race last night"

Mirae simply said. Seokhoon did lose the race to the motorbike the night prior and Mirae had set a kind of punishment for the loser. Thus Seokhoon shook his head accepting immediate defeat.

"Last night? What were you two doing last night? And why were you two together at night?"

Seokyung bombarded the two with questions while the two just looked at each other wondering what to say.

"Let's go have milkshakes and talk about it"

Mirae said hoping Seokyung would forget it by then.

"Are you two dating?"

Unluckily for Seokhoon and Mirae, Seokyung did not forget and as soon as they placed their order and sat down she threw another question at them.

"Where do you get that idea from?"

Mirae said chuckling nervously.

"I mean you two often go out alone at nights, don't act like you don't I know you do, plus you're always sharing secret smiles when you're in a room together. I've been trying to convince myself that it's not true but the signs say otherwise."

Seokyung said looking at the two suspiciously.

"I think you're overthinking the situation"

Seokhoon said avoiding eye contact with both girls, while Mirae sipped on her milkshake.

"I hope you don't get the wrong idea from this what I mean to say I'll be happy if you two start dating, I mean then Mirae would actually be part of our family"

Seokyung said taking a sip from her own drink and causing Mirae to almost choke on hers. Seokhoon on the other hand looked away trying to hide the blush that was forming on his cheeks. Just imagining being married to Mirae was enough to make the butterflies in his stomach go crazy.

Before Mirae or Seokhoon could say anything, Mirae's phone started ringing. Silently thanking whoever called her, Mirae got up from the table and went outside to pick up the call.

"Do you have any idea where Oh Yoon Hee could be?"

Mirae heard Logan's voice from the other end.

"What do you mean?"

"Oh Yoon Hee is missing she isn't even replying to Rona's messages, plus Suryeon read a letter from her which could mean something terrible"

Logan started saying confusing Mirae a lot.

"Have you checked her apartment?"

"Of course, any other places you can think of?"

"You don't think...no that's impossible...she won't be at Han River would she?"

Mirae hesitantly asked Logan.

"I hope not could you check there, I'll' check other places"

Logan said to Mirae, he might have sounded calm but hearing Mirae's words made him worried too. The letter didn't state anything on the lines of this but Yoon Hee had tried something similar before too. It was possible that she was at Han River.

That's how Mirae ended up frantically searching for Oh Yoon Hee wishing she hadn't done anything completely stupid. It was possible, as Oh Yoon Hee didn't know about Rona yet. Mirae just genuinely hoped that whatever she was thinking doesn't happen.

Little did all the searchers know that Oh Yoon Hee was currently at the police station admitting to her past crimes.
