Can This Last Forever

Chapter 13

Mirae was sitting with her mother, Oh Yoon Hee and Logan, which was something that had never happened before. It was actually an accident as Mirae had just come over to talk to Logan but instead came across the other two as well. The three adults were talking about some land that they had just purchased and stuff that Mirae did not understand at all. After the adults talking for a good half an hour while Mirae raided Logan's snack stash, Logan finally turned to Mirae.

"What did you want to talk about?"

He asked Mirae which caused her to smile and sit next to him.

"Seokhoon-"

Mirae started to say but was interrupted.

"Mirae for the last time, I shall not listen to you gush about how handsome that boy is"

Logan interrupted Mirae, which cause her to glare at him while Eun Sook also looked at Logan with a look that said don't tease her. On the other hand Oh Yoon Hee was laughing at the three.

"First of all I never talk about Seokhoon to you and second of all I don't like him that way"

"You can fool yourself Mirae but you can't fool me"

"I'm not fooling myself, I actually don't like him that way"

"You don't?"

"I don't"

"You sure?"

"I'm sure."

"Are you...?"

"Okay you two stop it, Logan start acting your age and Mirae dear what were you saying continue"

Eun Sook stopped the two knowing this would go on till she interfered.

"Well as I was saying before I was oh so rudely interrupted, Seokhoon seems to think his father murdered his mother, plus Seokhoon also has an idea that Eunbyeol might be the one behind Rona's case, he seems to know a lot plus I think he's on our side, so could I tell him everything I know?"

Mirae asked the adults.

"Seokhoon does seem like a good kid but I don't think you should drag him into this yourself if he gets dragged in then its fine but I don't think we should tell him everything, Suryeon would have liked him to stay safe."

Logan said looking at Eun Sook, who nodded agreeing with him.

"Hmm maybe you're right, well then I'll leave you guys to your serious adult talk then"

Mirae said before getting up and leaving the room. While Mirae was on her way back to Hera Palace she received a call. Seeing Jenny's name on the caller ID surprised her a little. Jenny and Mirae hadn't talked for a while, maybe it was because Mirae was too busy finding out what happened to Rona she completely forgot her other friends.

"Mirae can you come over? If you're free"

Mirae heard Jenny's voice as soon as she picked up and from what she heard it seemed like Jenny was crying.

"I'll be there, give me 5 minutes."

Mirae said to the girl before ending the call and rushing towards Hera Palace. Once she reached the familiar building she ran towards the elevator to go to Jenny's apartment.

"What happened? Is everything alright?"

Mirae asked the girl as soon as the door opened. Jenny led her inside and the two sat down in Jenny's room when Jenny told everything to Mirae about how her mother worked at the sauna and how the kids bullied her about it.

"Uggh sometimes I want to just kill Lee Minhyuk"

Mirae said as soon as Jenny stopped which caused Jenny to let out a chuckle.

"Anyway why are you crying about this?"

"What do you mean?"

"Did your mother steal to get you all the stuff? No she earned the money just like others. So is your mothers job really something to be embarrassed about?"

"Not really"

"Exactly so instead of crying how about you tell your mother you know, show your support, I'm sure she'll love that and about the kids ignore them I'll have a talk with Lee Minhyuk though"

Mirae said smiling at her friend before pulling her in a hug.

"Thank you Mirae ah"

"What are friends for?"

Mirae said. She was glad she was able to be there for her friend.

"Lets hangout someday, we could go to your favorite café and have something"

Mirae put forward the idea and Jenny agreed smiling at the girl. Jenny knew Mirae was one of her friends she could trust and could tell anything to. She was afraid that Mirae might not come when she called but she was glad Mirae came.

"Seokhoon ah how about I hide somewhere my mother won't be able to find me and I won't have to go to the wedding"

Mirae said to her friend as they waited for Seokyung so that they all went to the wedding together.

"Are you trying to avoid my fathers wedding? What type of friend doesn't come to their friends fathers wedding?"

Seokhoon playfully said to Mirae.

"This is not a normal wedding plus weddings scare me there are too many people, and too loud music and too much noise and soo much interaction, I hate it"

Mirae said pouting, which made Seokhoon smile.

"Mirae you have to go, if I help you hide your mother will kill me"

"Oh yeah that's true"

Mirae said looking defeated. Seokhoon shook his head and was about to say something but stopped when Seokyung came in the room.

"Did you two hear? Ha Eunbyeol ran away"

Seokyung said to the two.

"Ran away where did she run away?"

Mirae asked Seokyung confused.

"Ha Eunbyeol is own her way to California, I guess she also hated the idea of being siblings, I wish I could run away as well"

Seokyung sighed. Before Mirae could ask further questions Seokhoon was already out of the room.

"Where did Seokhoon go?"

Mirae asked Seokyung who just shrugged.

"I don't know but we should start heading towards the wedding reception or whatever they want to call it"

Seokyung said walking out. Mirae followed her best friends with multiple thoughts in her head. Did Seokhoon really like Eunbyeol? Did he not want her to leave him? What was going on? And the most important question why did Mirae feel like bursting into tears ever since Seokhoon ran out to look for Eunbyeol?
