Trey POV

Megan: Does this look good?" she mumbled. She was sporting a classy crop top white shirt with some nice jeans. She had on combat heels that matched her as her hair had loose curls in it.

Trey: you look good baby." I said as I fixed my shirt.

Megan: I just wanted to wear something easy." she mumbled fixing her shirt. If that was wearing something easy, I loved her style.

Kissing the top of her head, I rubbed her cheeks before letting go.

Trey: you look fine." I reassured. She nodded and softly walked past me and into the bedroom.

Today we were attending a morning brunch with her family, Megan did not want to go of course but I convinced her.

I was starting to see how convincing her to do what she didn't want to do ended up with someone's head being turned around on their shoulders.

You think I would get the picture, but I pushed her still. I knew once she got back home and calmed down she would guilt herself for not participating.

Me: you ready?" I asked as I grabbed my watch.

Megan: Yeah, let me just get my phone." she said. She grabbed it off the charger, sighing as she looked at it.

Me: what?"

Megan: I forgot to charge it.." she said as it wouldn't cut on.

Me: You can charge it in the car babygirl." I said.

Megan: yeah, I guess." she shrugged. She stuffed it in the bag, forgetting the cord for the car. Walking to the elevators, I grabbed her charger cord for her before joining her.

Coming down the elevator, we headed to the car I unlocked from here. Getting in, I plugged her phone up to the car before speeding off and down the road. The drive there was silent as she looked out the window, her thoughts racked her brain as I focused on the road.

Yesterday, admitting to her that I loved her was not my intention. Meaning, I never meant to blurt it out to her and tell her that. If I was honest, I wanted a more romantic way to tell her, like she told me at the picnic. I wanted to do something nice for her but our argument was so crucial, I blurted it out.

If I was real wit you, I wasn't sure she caught it yet. Yeah, I said. Yeah she heard it, but ion think she grasped it. With everything going on, I expected her not if I am honest. I remembered the path of her route home and in a few minutes I pulled up alongside her house.

There were more cars then last time, going down the strip of her neighborhood were people climbing out of their cars, getting out to walk to her house.

The sound of music played from the backyard, it sounded like people were having a good time.

Unbuckling her seatbelt, she let herself out and again I let that slide. I climbed out after her and closed the door, locking it behind me as she stared into her backyard.

Following her stare, I saw a giant tent and her aunts sitting having a drinking, laughing. Her skin began to burn as she saw them having a good time and honestly, I grew frustrated for her as well.

It was kind of like they were rubbing it in her face, kind of a stretch but think about it, Megan clearly was the only one grieving in a painful way.

Her entire family knew she did not coupe well with this and instead of being considerate to her, they were throwing a cookout.

I started to regret encouraging her to come, this already looked like set up for somebody else to get smacked.

Me: Maybe, we should head back-."
