Trey POV
Relief was not the word I would use for seeing Kylie.
She was so small, so tiny.
A blessing really.
She had a head full of gorgeous and curly hair like mines and Megan's and she had the glow Megan radiated wherever she went.
She had Megan's face almost, but she took my eyes. She was quiet, not loud, sleeping peacefully on the monitor I watched from my office.
Rubbing my beard, I switched the camera from my daughter and onto her mother. She was laying there, inches from Kylie. The camera's gray and white aesthetic still captured the paleness and limpness of her body.
..All that blood she had lost that night still was being scrubbed off of our living room floor. I gritted my teeth heavily as I remembered slapping her face for her to wake up but she never did.
Her blood drained from her body like an open leakage staining the kitty pool with a mercury red color.
Morgan called 911 but I didn't wait on it, I draped her over my arms and took her to the car, racing against time to get her to the hospital.
..I got there on a limb.
Barely getting her there in time to Doctor Stevens who did his best to fix what he could.
He got her right, stitched her up and got her stable. Even though he saved her, his efforts to me were useless as she had not waken up since.
..She lost 4 pints of blood that night and it infuriated me as I watched Samantha check on her.
Samantha was the nurse who came to the house that night, Bleu apparently called her and she dropped her shift and came to the house to help Megan.
No good deed goes ungifted with me, dropping everything to take care of my family automatically made her family and I made her quit her job and work for me personally going forward.
I watched intently as she lifted the covers over Megan up, checking on her stitches before tucking her back in and checking on Kylie. She picked her up, bouncing her caringly on her shoulder as she walked around the room with her.
Placing my daughter down, she cleaned up a bit before leaving the room and closing the door.
I watched them some more as my double doors opened letting my niggas in. I did not need to look up at them to know it was them I knew by their presence.
Bleu: Wassup." he mumbled as I did not take my eyes off of Megan and Kylie.
Me: wassgoin on." I mumbled back. They took their seats on my couch as I panned out the security tape on M and Kylie and switched to the other parts of my house.
Bleu: how you feeling?" he asked.
Me: straight."
Kollin: just straight?" he asked as I glared up at him.
Me: what you want me to say I am pissed or some shit?" I spit as Kollin put his hands up.
Kollin: No, I just want you to talk Trey." he eased.
Me: talk about what?" I snarled.
Kollin: about what is going on in your mind." he gestured to his temple.
Kollin: we saw the look in your eye that night you stormed out." he said as I looked away.
Kollin:..where did you go?" he questioned.
