Chapter 39: The Long Waited Rematch

Back at the ship, Vegeta berated Tengoku for not defeating Dabura and told her that she should've fought Dabura and Krillin, Nappa, Shippo, and Piccolo would have been restored back to normal.

After Sesshomaru broke the two up and told Vegeta that Tengoku hadn't done anything wrong. Vegeta threatened to blow up the ship, but Raditz and Goku stopped him and told him that they should move forward from this as Vegeta reluctantly agreed.

Shin and Sesshomaru then learned that Vegeta was the new recruit that Dabura was talking about.

Meanwhile, at the same time, Dabura and Babidi discussed that Vegeta does not have a pure heart and could be used to their advantage, so Babidi used his magic to try to take control of Vegeta.

Vegeta screamed in agony as he clenched his head, which made everyone worried.

"Vegeta, what's wrong?" Tengoku asked, worried.

Vegeta grunted and screamed in pain, trying to fight it.

"Vegeta, what is going on?" Goku asked, confused.

"Something is attacking me...!" Vegeta grunted in pain, still trying to fight it.

"Where!? We can't see anything!" Goku shouted.

"Inside!"

Sesshomaru glared. "Babidi is controlling him."

"What?" Raditz said in shock.

Shin then realized what was happening to Vegeta as he went to help him. "Fight it! Resist!"

"I... can't...!"

"You must!"

Vegeta let out a scream of agony and continued to struggle to fight off his demons. Then Tengoku, Raditz, and Shin came up to him and helped him out immediately.

"That's it! Resist!" Shin said.

Vegeta screamed more as he clenched his head harder and backed away from the others. It was then he went Super Saiyan as he let out another scream.

Everyone, except Sesshomaru, panicked.

"Don't let him win, Vegeta! Don't let him do it!"

Vegeta clenched his fists tightly.

"That's it! Fight! Fight it!"

"Supreme Kai, what is happening to him?" Goku asked him, worried.

"Babidi is controlling Vegeta, Kakarot," Raditz explained.

"What?"

Shin panicked again as he saw Vegeta was giving in. "Vegeta, no! Don't let him!"

"Is there anywhere we can help him?" Tengoku asked Shin.

"He struggles because his heart isn't pure, Priestess," Sesshomaru said.

"Oh, no..." Tengoku said as she went to Vegeta and tried to help, but she was struck by the barrier as she was knocked out.

"Tenny!" Goku screamed.

Tengoku groaned in pain as she sat up. Kirara came to her and licked her face to make her feel better.

It was then Vegeta transformed into Majin Vegeta, which improved his power and turned him against his friends. Babidi transported the Z Warriors including Majin Vegeta back to the World Tournament arena where there was still a celebration over Mr. Satan's apparent victory in the tournament.

Majin Vegeta destroyed portions of the stadium, killing people in the process to convince Goku to fight him. Everyone was horrified at this, especially Bulma, who fainted in sorrow.

Goku said that the Vegeta he knew would never do such a thing. When pressed by Shin to stop, Majin Vegeta revealed that Goku has surpassed his ability and strength on many occasions and that he wanted to regain his pride by beating Goku.

When Goku and Tengoku pleaded with Vegeta to stop what he was doing, Vegeta destroyed another part of the stadium, which finally prompted Goku to agree to fight him.

The two are then teleported to a desert plane at Goku's request, where they engage in battle.

Goku used his Super Saiyan Two form to fight Majin Vegeta and they seem evenly matched. Majin Vegeta and Goku continue to battle while Tengoku, Raditz, Sesshomaru, and Shin go off to fight Babidi.

Majin Vegeta announced that he has not completely succumbed to Babidi's control; he only allowed Babidi to turn him evil by his own desire to return to his old ways because he was ashamed of himself for settling down and growing to love his new family, as well as being second to Goku in strength.

Back at the spaceship, Tengoku, Raditz, Sesshomaru, and Sesshomaru are about to fight Dabura and Babidi, but before they can, it was revealed that the machine has reached full power which in turn will open up the Sealed Ball.

Tengoku managed to stop the sealed ball by using her Kamehameha wave with spiritual power.

As the Sealed Ball opened, it was shown that there was nothing inside, much to Babidi and Dabura's shock. Shin congratulated Tengoku for stopping the Sealed Ball, but she realized that it didn't work as the puff of smoke is floating in the air and thus, Majin Buu was awakened.
