Chapter 8: Collecting the Carriage and Railcar

Kyle is on his way to the terminal and talks to himself on the way.

Kyle: Great job, Kyle. Letting more people join us. Was supposed be just the mechanic, but no, Shawn has to get a hard on and go all "we can't leave the woman and child here! They'll be eaten alive." I mean, I get it, the two were held hostage in a church for over a year....and she is a pretty girl, but goddamn, Shawn! Get everyone else on my ass of letting them on just so you can have a chance to laid! You live a confusing fucking life, Kyle Desipich..... and now, I'm talking to myself....I've been around Rocky too long.

At the Myrmidon, Cassandra coughs as Margaret walks up to her. James is present and hands Cassandra some water.

Margaret: You all right?

Cassandra: Yeah....just a bit winded...I got lucky earlier.

Margaret: Oh, yeah? What happened?

Cassandra: I fell into a goddamn ammo dump. The place was completely toxic.....

Margaret: Shit! What happened?

Cassandra: Well, luckily the kid was with me and she managed to pull me out.

Margaret: Well, thank God you brought Rachel with you.

Cassandra: Yeah, can you do a check on me?

Margaret: Sure....

Margaret does a check up on Cassandra, before Kayla walks in.

Kayla: I can help, too....Sorry, didn't mean to ease drop, but....I just want to help out as much as possible. Repay you guys for taking me and Savannah with you.

Margaret looks at Cassandra, who nods.

Cassandra: Okay....appreciate that, Kayla.

James: Thank you, Kayla.

Shawn looks at Kayla, with a smirk, just as Marcus walks up and bumps into Shawn.

Marcus: Eye sighting?

Shawn: What? I wasn't ogling over a pretty girl.

Marcus: Dude, when you use the words "wasn't ogling over a pretty girl", you were so ogling over a pretty girl.

Shawn sighs.

Shawn: Is it that obvious?

Marcus: Fuck yeah, it's obvious.

Shawn: I mean, dude....she's a very pretty woman...

Marcus: You don't mind the fact that she has a six year old sister?

Shawn: I mean, I definitely don't mind that....her sister could use some good people to look up to.

Marcus: Yeah, plus....with all we've been through, we could use this....it'd be good to have a kid around.

Shawn: Remind of the peace with Rose?

Marcus: Yeah....but, dude, as one of your good friends, I highly advise you to take a good opportunity with what's in front of you...kind of like I did with Vivian.

Shawn shakes his head.

Shawn: I get it.....I can see it....Thanks, Marcus.

Marcus: Plus, I'm pretty sure if you don't make a move, Caleb will.

Shawn: Yeah, the way that motherfucker was talking about finding a woman out here in the wasteland.

Marcus laughs, folding his arms. Shawn then walks over to Kayla as Rachel looks on, smiling, before Abigail comes up and bumps her on the shoulder.
