“Alright, everyone, to the field.” Mr. C. says in a rather bored tone. “Has anyone seen Laura, she hasn’t been in all day, that’s not like her at all.” he says offhandedly. Oh well, she’s probably just skipping today, it’s not like it’s the first or anything.

The field was just mowed, I didn’t even know they did that out here. We all form a circle, minus one since she’s clearly not going to magically show up. “Alright, we’re going to learn one important and sometimes last resort when you’re at war. It’s called Transferring.

“Transferring is when one powered person can transfer information or memories to another powered person, or, if the mortal is strong enough, to an actual human. We don’t use it that much nowadays and the schools don’t teach the kids since they don’t think it’s that important, but it is. Pair off in two.” he says. “Chris, your with me.”

We all paired off, me with Dan, Victor and Hector together, Avery and Alec, and Mr. C. and Chris since Laura wasn’t here. “Alright, everyone grab hands with your partner. You have to touch the person one way or another in some point in time for the message or memory to transport. Now, all you have to do is focus on transporting a message to the other person and bam, they got it. This is a pretty easy skill, and it only gets hard if you haven’t seen the person you want to give the message to in awhile.”

We all focused and they were all simple messages, though Chris could see them all since he can already read minds and so could Avery, who laughed at whatever Alec was trying to send to her. He didn’t say anything, and nearly choked while he was laughing because of what she sent him back.

Dan sent me a muddled picture of roses and chocolates that he had given me on Valentines day a couple months ago. I remember that because him and I that night were amazing together. I sent him a memory of that night together and he smiled at the memory, clearly he remembered that.

This reminded me of that other type of message I had gotten of the guy and that big eyed girl… Hmm…. But that would mean that he or the girl would’ve had to touch me at some point, and it didn’t look like they were in America since they were riding horses and it looked like a desert type of thing.

As I was thinking of it Avery gasped from where she was beside me and looked over at me. “Why didn’t you tell me you had that?” she asks. Crap, I keep forgetting she can read minds like that. Stupid her, why does she have to have extra powers?

“It didn’t seem like it would matter to you. No offense, but you’re really not someone that I would talk to about these kinds of things, and it doesn’t seem like you would care anyways.” I say and think, involuntarily of course, of the guy on the graceful horse.

She stormed away, not even trying to explain where she was going. But that was like her, never telling anyone anything and expecting to get her way. She disappeared, Mr. C. didn’t even try to stop her and just watched her leave.

“Alright, now that she stormed away like that, Chris, you can go and be with Alec. Alright, it seems like everyone gets the hand of it, it’s actually really simple, which is why I don’t know why the schools don’t teach it to the kids.”

I leaned back on Dan’s chest and sighed into him. His chest was so comfy yet firm, a comfortable spot and a turn on. This was a perfect moment. If I could just freeze time, I would stay here forever. Surrounded by the boyfriend that I kind of love, my friends around me, not having to worry about Avery always help, and in a beautiful field with bright blue skies and birds chirping in the distance.

But, the sky suddenly turned dark and lightning struck a little ways away. The sky turned extremely dark and the wind picked up. Mr. C. paled a little, but just told us to go home and get some rest and that we wouldn’t be meeting in a few days.
