Chapter 8? David???

LAVENDER’S POV

The guys come over from their apartment across the hall and join Dan and I for video games and movies. It seems the only reason they ever come here is for that, but what else is there to really do? I sit between Alec and Dan, who is drawing circles on my thigh with his unusually soft thumb, which is making it hard to focus on beating the guys butt at this racing game.

“Oh, I invited Avery over, by the way, she should be here in about a minute or so.” Victor explains and smiles over at me as he wins the race and puts his hands up in the air because of it.

“You did? She’s probably just going to beat you all at this, you realize that, right?” Alec said in a bored tone. Lately he’s been really weird about her, always talking more whenever we bring her up and all that. Though they still fight like crazy on the field which is cute and annoying, depending on if they drag you into it or not.

Just then there was a knock on the door and Avery came strutting in with her black booty shorts and a red blouse that showed off everything perfectly. “Hey you guys.” she says, in an airy tone. “I want you all to meet David.” I spin around at this and in walks in a cute older guy and he puts his arm around her.

“Hi, I’m David.” he says and smiles at us all in a cheery way.

It was silent for a minute, before Hector and Victor got over the shock of seeing Avery with David’s arm around her and introduced themselves. “Hey, Dave, I’m Victor-”

“And I’m Hector, we’re kind of Avery’s best friends at the moment.” they explain and make a spot between themselves for Avery and David.

“You must be Lavender, I’ve heard so much about you!” he explains and extends a hand toward me which I shake since I don’t know what else to do.

“So are you-?” I ask and look over at Avery who has a faint smile while she looks at him. I’ve never seen her smile like that before. She was smiling like someone who is completely devoted to that person and loves them to pieces. It certainly surprised me that Avery could feel that way toward someone, especially him since he was so much different then her.

“Oh, Avery probably didn’t mention me, I’m her boyfriend.”

Dan’s hand found mine and he smiled at me. “Hi, I’m Dan, Lavender’s boyfriend.” he extends his other hand toward David and they both grasp each other firmly, but not in a mean way.

“Hi, I’m Alec, I’ve heard a lot about you.” Alec said in a completely friendly tone. That surprised me even more then what kind of smile Avery was giving David. Since when did Avery and Alec become best buds?

“Same to you, Alec.” he responded. “So what’re we doing?”

“Playing a racing game, want to join?” Hector asked.

“Actually, David and I just stopped by so you guys could meet him, but we have to go.” Avery said and stood up with David behind her. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow at school.”

Victor looked over and gave David two thumbs up and nodded like the pervert he is. David just laughed quietly and they both left, hand in hand. They were really cute together, and it seemed like all the guys liked him enough.

Chris got up and stormed out in the hall and I could vaguely hear his apartment door slamming shut in frustration. That was… odd. I brushed it off as nothing though, and continued to play the game with the guys.

THE NEXT DAY

“Lavender! Get up! We’re going to be late for school again!” Dan yells from the other side of the door. This is his third time trying to wake me up, but I’m way to nice and warm to get out of bed now. “Lavender, if you don’t get up this instant… I won’t have sex with you for a month! A whole thirty days, maybe thirty-one!”

I opened my eyes to him and smirk. “I’m sure that if I pranced around in one of my many, many outfits that you’ve bought for me, that you’ll be begging for it.” I say seductively and I see his eyes turn lustful. “So let me sleep.” I state and fall back into my pillow and pull the covers up.

“Th-that’s not true, no matter how hot you would look in them I’m not that weak.”

“Sure, babs, sure…”

I was just about to actually fall asleep when the covers were ripped off me and Dan’s familiar arms scooped me up and dumped me in front of my closet. I sighed and glared up at him. “Fine, I see how it is. Just so you know, you’re not getting sex for a month either!” I yell and choose out dark jeans and a purple pheasant top and pull them on in a hurry. He was right about being late, I only had ten minutes.

My hair was done in about five, I didn’t really wear make-up so I didn’t worry about that and by the time I got out of my room Dan was walking out of the apartment with the car keys. “Hey! Wait! I’m coming!” I yell and grab onto his shirt.

He laughs, spins around, and kisses me before continuing to walk to the car at a fast pace. “If we’re late, you’re taking the blame, not me.”

I laugh at this, since there’s no way in hell that I would take the blame for being late again, and get in the car.

At school I meet the guys in the back with Avery on the side, being weirdly quite. I give her a quizzical look but she just doesn’t see it or ignores me. “Hey, people, what’s up?”

“What’s up is that Ms. Wolfs is in the worst mood and you coming in late did not help at all.” Alec growls and crosses his arms. Well, isn’t someone in a bad mood today, I think and roll my eyes at him. He has more mood swings then a pregnant girl.

Avery looks over at me but pretends to look at the wall instead, but I saw that something caught her attention that I was thinking. Maybe since Alec and her are all buddy-buddy now that she takes high offense to that or something.

I take out my notes before Ms. Wolfs looks up and copy down whatever we’re going to do today and tear off a piece in which I write: “Does anyone know why Avery’s king of ignoring us?” I pass it to Vector (Hector and Victor) but they shake their heads, Chris does the same but Alec just crumples it up and throws it on the ground. “No need to get defensive, Alec.” I whisper but he just glares at me.

I take out another note and write: “Does anyone know why Alec is so pissed at me?” Again, they all shake their heads, but they don’t give it to Alec, since he just glared out the window.

Chris hands me a little piece of paper that says: “All I know is that he said last night that he was going to figure out where Avery goes all the time and trailed her (slightly like a creep would) and when they got to school this morning Avery wasn’t talking to anyone, and Alec seemed really pissed off.”

I nod and continue writing notes off of the blackboard and thank the lord when the class was dismissed and nearly ran out of there. I also thanked to lord when I was getting ready to take notes and over the loudspeaker I was called down to the office along with the rest of my little gang and Avery.

Mr. C. smiled at us and beckoned us all to sit down. “I have terrific news for you all!” he cheers and bounces on his feet. He’s probably just going to tell us that he found a fifty-year-old penny or something. “Alright, you know how there’s this school that people with powers usually go to, right?” he asks and smiles even wider, barely able to keep his excitement in.

“Yeah.” we all say in unison, except for Avery and Alec of course since they were in foul moods and all that.

“Well, I’ve pulled a few strings and..” he says and pauses to give it dramatic effect. “You guys can all go now!” he explodes and claps like a little school girl.

I share a look with Dan. We didn’t really have anything to loose, and nothing was keeping us here, so I smiled in excitement. The guys seemed to be happy about it too, they all lived together anyway so they didn’t have parents holding them here.

“Before you say no, you won’t have to move or anything, since the school is only about a thirty minute drive form most of your houses.” Bummer, I would love to leave this place and go somewhere completely new.

“I’m pretty sure I’m speaking for everyone here when I say, hell yeah!” I yell and the guys cheer.
