Chapter twenty-two

Kacey's POV:

Once I had sent Joey that message I instantly regretted it. The good thing was I can open up to Joey and I really need to tell someone. Once we had finished texting, I went into a deep sleep. The next morning I woke up at 11:00am and had 1 hour to get ready, so I quickly jumped out of bed and dived I'm the shower. After 20 minutes in the shower, I climbed out and went over to my wardrobe to choose my outfit. I chose my black high-waisted jeans, black crop top and my black converse. I straightened my hair, grabbed my coat and bag. It was now 11:50am so I had 10 minutes until Joey was coming round. The smell of pancakes filled the house so I ran down the stairs to see Victoria stood there making pancakes.

Kacey: you didn't have to make pancakes
Victoria: I wanted to be expecting it every morning
Kacey: aw thank you
Victoria: it's fine what do you want on your pancakes
Kacey: just lemon juice and sugar please
Victoria: okay coming right up

I sat down at the table and skated for the pancakes to be done. Victoria placed them on the table in front of me so I tucked in. I hadn't had pancakes in ages so it was nice to have them. Just as I had washed up my plate and brushed my teeth, the door knocked and Victoria went to answer it.
Victoria: Kacey joeys here for you
Kacey: yeah I'm coming

Joey's POV:

When I knocked on Kacey's door Victoria answered and shouted Kacey so she came to the door and we left. We reached the park and sat on the swings and starting having a casual conversation until she told me something upsetting.

Kacey: Joey I need to tell you something but you can't tell anyone especially Leo
Joey: of course what is it
Kacey: ummm well I self-harmed again
Joey: why Kacey
Kacey: I'm really struggling to cope
Joey: come here

We stood up and gave her a massive hug while she cried into my shoulder. I just can't believe she did it again, but who can really blame her, her mum and brother were murdered. She took her coat off and showed me the cuts. She told me some of them were from back up in Leeds but some were from last night. I felt really sorry for her and it's going to be hard not be able to tell anyone. I suppose I just have to try.
