Twenty One: Who's Who? {Part 1: An Fake MK}

Third Person POV:

Tuesday (Morning)

MK, Roy, and Ren are walking together to the doors of the high school. "So MK any plans for later today?" Roy asks. Before MK can say anything in sign language he spots something in the distance. He sees himself down the hall. "MK are you okay?" Ren asks and he completely ignores them. He's only wondering about the poser that he's witnessing.

Meanwhile across the hallway out of their sights, Link and Pythra confirmed their suspicions about the 'doppelgänger' they saw yesterday. "So, does this conform that one is the fake MK?" Link asks her. "I would say yes but then again," Pythra takes a closer look at the MK walking away from the classrooms, "I feel like we should observe them more. Let me tell Lucina to not to interact with MK all day." Pythra pulls out her phone and texts Lucina.

Lucina

Pythra: Lucina darling, do you mind if you don't interact with MK all day today?

Lucina: Why what's wrong?

Pythra: All I'm saying is that if you are seeing two MK's, you're not imagining things.

Lucina: What do you mean by that?

Pythra: I'll explain it once we're in First Period Class at Mr. Dedede.

She puts her phone away and looks at Link. "Alright, let's head to class now. Inform Cloud and Sora about this as well." Pythra tells Link as they walked to class.

Back with the boys, Ren places his hand on MK's shoulder. "I'm asking again, what's wrong MK?" He refuses to respond to either Roy or Ren. "Let's get to First Period MK. I'll see you in Third Period Ren!" Roy and MK left for class. Link and Pythra were the first to enter the class before the rest. "Now when will Lucina arrive?" She asks as she sits at her desk. "Question has been answered." Link points at the door as Lucina enters the classroom. "So what is it you want to talk about Pythra?" Lucina asks Pythra as she approaches her. "So remember how I said that MK might have a 'doppelgänger' yesterday?" Pythra asks Lucina and she nods. "Well I don't want you to interact with MK just in case."

Lucina gives Pythra a shocked response, "What!?" "It's just to be sure that the 'fake' MK doesn't do anything stupid with you!" Link buts in the conversation. "But-" Lucina tries to say something but 'Mythra' cuts her off, "I AM NOT RISKING THE FACT THAT AN IMPOSTER IS TRYING TO GET IN THE WAY OF YOU AND MK LUCINA! THAT COULD BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT REPTILE RETROTECH!"

Lucina thought about the possibility and sighed. "You may be right, I'll just leave a note on his desk-" 'Pyra' regains control spoke, "Don't bother. Just don't saying anything about it at all." Lucina nodded and they both sat down as the rest of the class arrived. As MK and Roy entered the class he tapped MK, "Are you sure you don't want to explain what's wrong?" MK shook his head. "Hmph, I swear I didn't had this much difficulty trying to get a response since meeting Ren for the first time when he mostly spoke Japanese." They boys sat down and proceeded on with their day.

Lunchtime

Roy and Ren are sitting at their normal lunch table trying to get answers from MK. "Are you sure you don't want to tell us what's wrong?" He shook his head again. "MK, I know when something is bothering someone. Just tell or um- write it to us." Roy hands him a sheet of paper and a pencil. He proceeds to write on it and shows it to them. Ren adjusts his glasses and begins to read, "Just this morning I saw another 'me' walking down the hallway." Both Ren and Roy looked at MK, "Are you sure that you're not going crazy?" Roy asks. He facepalms and walks away from the table. "Wait MK we didn't mean to upset you!" Roy cried out by MK left the cafeteria already. As MK left to walk to clear his mind, he sees his doppelgänger standing across from him. His hair is blue, however his mask and clothing are completely black and gray. And his eyes are also in a shade of gray. He felt complete shock after he got to see the 'other MK' in front of him. MK takes a step back out of fear and the 'Dark MK' takes a step towards him. He panics and starts to run in the other direction away from the doppelgänger.

He hears the footsteps getting louder as he runs for his very life. Oh Nova please help me now! He cries in his thoughts. As 'Dark MK' closes their distance they suddenly get tackled to the ground by Cloud. "I got this one!" Cloud yelled. MK stops running and sees what had just happened. Suddenly he was also tackled to the ground by Link. "I also got this one!" Link calls out. The two MKs are struggling to escape from their grasps. Walking up to them is Zelda, Sora, Lucina, and Pythra. "By Naga's witnesses..." Lucina couldn't believe what she was seeing. Zelda kneels down to inspect on them. "Incredible. So you weren't lying after all Pythra." Zelda looked at Pythra, "I may be crazy but I know for a fact that I wasn't seeing things."

Cloud aggressively grabs the other MK's hair, "How do we know you're a fake or not?" He attempts to intimate him and Link grabs the real MK's hair rough as well, "The same applies to you!" MK is completely scared and afraid of making any moves. "No wait!" Lucina intervenes from them doing anything to the MK's. "There has to be a less aggressive approach to this. Link, Cloud, let go of them now!" Lucina commands. They let go of them and looks at the two MK's herself. She looks at the group again, "Who has a spare pen and paper?" Zelda digs into her backpack and pulls them out. "Why do you need them?"

Lucina responded, "We're going to test their knowledge." "Wait what?" The group questioned her. "It's simple, we are going to ask them questions that they know personally. Only the real MK would know personal stuff. Now, Roy, you go first." Lucina drags him. "Okay MK, what is the one restaurant we would hang out after school?" Roy gives them the first question. They wrote down their answers and showed them to the group. Roy reads their answer, "Bowser's Diner. They both got it right." He sighs.

"My turn!" Ren steps in, "Before you knew what my real name is, what did you used to refer me to?" They wrote their answers on the sheet of paper. He reads it, "Joker. They're both right." "Hm, most of us still don't know MK as personal besides them. And out of everyone in our group, Lucina is the one closest to him. So I say we let her ask them the questions." Cloud suggests. "That's actually a good idea." Pythra replies. "That's fine by me." Lucina steps up and begins to ask them questions.

"What did the both of us ordered on our first date at the diner?" She asks them. They wrote their answers and handed to her. "Grilled chicken sandwich and lemon lime soda." Lucina reads them but noticed that one was answer for MK's sentence included a Morse Code. "Hm, okay, how did we both meet each other?" They wrote their answers again and handed to her and only this time she got two different answers. "Hm, 'We met at First Period Class' and 'You crashed into me while you were on your way to class' I think I'm starting to crack down on this. Okay next, what is the name of my pet Bearded Dragon?"

MK finished his answer at an instant and handed it to her. 'Dark MK' finished late. "This one says 'Grima' and the other answered 'Spike', oh yeah I'm definitely getting close to the real MK. Finally, what are the two things you gave me at Homecoming?" MK wrote on his paper while 'Dark MK' was struggling to get an answer. They eventually gave their answers to her. "Let's see, 'Roses and Dark Chocolate'," Lucina stares at them and continues to read, "And this one wrote milk chocolate and bluebird flowers.' I think I know Who's Who." She puts them down and walks up towards MK. "You." Lucina smiles and hugs him. MK hugs back and smiles underneath his mask.

'Dark MK' however was furious and tried to attack MK. "ENOUGH!" Cloud and Pythra separated them as far as possible. "It's clear we know who's the real one." Lucina commented. "But something tells me we need to run one more test on them." "And what will that be?" Sora asks her, "It's simple."

After School

All of them are in the Gym setting up the arena with the Pit Twins. "We're going to have Dark Pit test them." Lucina told Sora. "I see... and how will that work?" "You'll see." Dark Pit finished setting up and brings MK up the stage, "First I'll be you and then that 'Dark MK' and with that out of the way, Time to test your guys skills."
