Thirty: Forgiveness?

MK's POV:

Me and Lucina were making our way back to the Orphanage. With our hands holding still, I was feeling safe and happy. "MK, now that you've finally spoke and showed your face to us, how do you feel?" She asks me. "I've never felt this much freedom in a very long time." I replied. As we got closer I saw someone sitting on the steps of the building. I stopped her, "What's wrong?" She asks me right as she looks who was in front of us.

"Wait, is that-"

"Yeah, it's Susie."

I noticed that she isn't her usual self. Where she would usually be excited to see me and get all touchy. But she just looks depressed with her head hidden in her hands. "Is it me or does she look depressed?" Lucina asks and I replied, "Yeah, I may not had been friendly towards her but knowing her for years, that's not how she would act." We kept staring at her until I broke the silence, "Should we try to talk to her?" I asked. "Yeah, but I think you should stay silent in this case." She suggests and I nodded. We walked towards her and I tapped her shoulder.

Susie looks up and there wasn't a single sign of excitement, "Hey MK..." Me and Lucy looked at each other with a form of concern. "You're right MK, she's not feeling herself." We looked back at her and she begins to talk again. "I want to talk to the both of you. Please." Susie stands up, "I want to apologize, and I'm being serious." I stared and I can feel the tone of her voice, honesty. Me and Lucina stared at each other again, I gave her the 'Let's trust her' look. "Are you sure?" She asks and I nodded.

We looked at Susie, "Alright, let's go to the park nearby the diner." Lucina tells her. "I'm fine with that. Let's go." We left to the park. As we're approaching the park I felt a sudden chill running down my spine. Shortly after that I heard something calling out to me.

I jolted my head up and looked around in panic. "Are you okay?" The girls asked me. I nervously nodded and made my way to them.

We've made it to the little park. I sat next to Lucy as Susie sat across from us. I asked her in sign language, 'What do you want to talk about?' She looks at Lucina, "I'm sorry but what did he say?" "He asked what do you want to talk about." "Oh right." We hear Susie clearing her throat. "I want to talk about my wrongdoings..."

Susie covers her face one more time before looking at me, "So MK, do you remember the first time we met?" I nodded. "Looking back at it now after what happened today, it made me feel like a fool, a terrible person even. I mean, I scared you off on our first interaction and I thought maybe you'll get more comfortable with me as time goes by... that was not the case." She sighs, "I was oblivious. I still believed that you'll eventually develop feelings for me. To be fair, you did. Just not the type of feelings I was expecting..." she rubs her right side of her face.

Flashback

I marched as she walks to me. She gasped, "Are they for me!" Susie points at the flowers and chocolates. I shook my head. "Wait, they're not?" She sounded a bit annoyed. I once again shook my head. "But I am your date! I should be entitled to having these gifts!" She tries to pull them from my hands but I yanked them away from her.

I growled and put my gifts to the side and started saying something in sign language. "What did he say?" Susie asks and Roy responds, "You can't have these gifts but I do have something else for you." Susie looks at me annoyed, "Well what do you have then?" I said my response in sign language. "Uh?" "He said, 'this'." Ren says.
