I was looking at the picture with my father when my mother called me: ,,Rowan are you ready?'' I put the picture back on my dresser, picked up my suitcase and left my room...

Before I could think about it any further, I went back to my room and took the picture with me.

Now we were on the way to my mother's new boyfriend, who is also supposed to have a son for whom i had to leave my whole life behind.

I was reading Jane Austen „Pride and Prejudice" when my mother tried to talk to me, „What are you reading?" I was just looking up from my book because I didn't want to talk to her.

„I can't see anything without reading glasses, just say it" I remained silent and she kept raking :„do you want to be silent the whole trip?"
I turned the pages of my book and continued to ignore her. My mother then said :„You know, it's not easy for me either."

I just rolled my eyes, she continued:„All my life I've been trying to reach the next level, but I keep failing because the same monster blocks my way every time and one day when I thought I had no more lives left I obviously got such an extra life as a gift." I replied to her :„I'm not a little kid anymore can you stop comparing the video games." She continued:„Then imagine you open a new chapter in your book, do you like that better?"

I was still pissed off and now the discussion started with her words: „Damn Rowan, we two finally have the chance to play the leading roles in our lives" I reacted to her: „In your life mom mine is 1000 kilometers away and because of a shitty mood of yours, I don't have anyone anymore!" She continued to discuss : „No Rowan, It's not a whim I love Will!" I cut her off : „Stop it I don't care okay!" She still said : „but it's the truth Will and I love each other!" I replied : „Great and you don't give a damn about how I am" she said: „That's not true I'm sorry to have to separate you from your friends... Rowan you're 17 years old, I'm sure with such a mood you will quickly make new friends", „You are so funny" , „Believe me, St. Marie is a good school, they have a really good volleyball team and they'll definitely make you captain right away." You don't get it. I don't wanna go to a fancy school especially when a stranger pays for it'', ,,He's not a stranger, he's my husband, so get used to it''

I just starred at her annoyed and didn't feel like talking anymore.

Suddenly we were standing in front of a large luxurious gate, driving towards it and then in, I was beyond confused at what was happening. My mother greeted a gardener and then I saw people standing on a staircase. We got out of the car and I stared at the oversized house.

My mother now greeted her husband with a kiss, I was about to get my suitcase out of the car when a butler wanted to help me. I told him that I could do it on my own and that I don't need help but he refused to let go. It turned into a little fight and when he slapped my hand I let it be and said to him :,,You win, Mortimer.'',

Will now stood in front of me and held out his hand: "Nice to see you again Rowan", "I wish I could say the same.'', ,,I hope that you will soon feel at home here, after all we are all family now, I hope so anyway'' My mother squeezed my shoulders and asked, "How about I show you the house?''

We walked into the entrance hall and my mother explained to me, "There is the kitchen and the bedrooms are on the first floor. I turned around a few times and marveled at the ceilings and railings that had been covered in gold. We first walked into the spa where a fitness room was attached and then we stood in front of a car. It was all getting to be annoying, so I asked:,,Is there a library or a guest room where I can be alone for a bit and rest?''

My mother and her husband glanced at each other skeptically. As we walked into a bedroom, I was even more amazed — to my left was a huge bed with a desk and mirror and to the right a dressing table but what really amazed me was the view out to sea, I have a balcony with comfortable seating and I could hear the waves and it looked comfort and amazing. I was just looking around as my mum told me ''Your favorite colors, an decorator helped me but I chose most of it''

''I don't know what to say?'' ''I wanted you to have what you always wanted, but I couldn't give you.'' I looked at her:,,Its amazing. Thanks.'' ,,You deserve it. sweetie.'' She kissed the top of my head and we hugged — as I pulled away I told her:,,Okay Mom'' Before she left she said to me:,,And it's not a guest room you know.''

She opened my suitcase that was lying on the bed and I said to her:,,I'm sorry'' ,,By the way, Nicholas' is right next door.'' ,,Oh, of course, Nick. Daddy's boy. the perfect son... How cool'' I giggled and didn't even try so my answer didn't sound annoyed.

Meanwhile, I sat down on my bed and my mother came to me:,,Listen to me. As perfect as he is, he's your stepbrother. You have just as much right to be in this house, as he does.'' ,,Mom, you know I'll never see it like that.''

She looked into my eyes:,,And I won't stop until you understand what this place is. our home now.''She clapped on my back and told me to unpack. I sat up from the bed and moved my T-shirt in my suitcase to the side so I could look at the old picture with my dad.

The person was rolling up the sleeves of his shirt. I was trying to figure out who it was when suddenly my phone started vibrating with an embarrassing sound. I quickly disappeared back into my room and took the call with a :,,Very Funny'' answer. My friend on the other hand said:,,The Rington you had was so dull dude.''

I asked her:,,How do I change it back?'' She yelled:,,Don't you dare Rowan, I want you to hate me as soon as you can!'' I answered :,,Me? Hate you?'' ,,I don't want you to start whining about how much you miss me.'' I told her:,,Well I don't care, because I already miss you to much.'' ,,Well I hate you. I'm dead jealous dude! I love that closet!'' ,,Sorry to disappoint you and mom but I am not going to wear any of those dresses.''

She yelled back :,,Are you crazy? Just have fun dude!'' I told her :,,You know I can't stand all this extravagance. Honestly you should see this house, It smells like posh dog. Just picture me in a spa cuddling up to one those poodle pops, no right.'' I heard her giggle :,,Am I supposed to feel sorry for you being rich?''

I kept talking :,,On top of that, today it's family dinner at the sailing club. Ugh. I'll puke overboard — Look at this. His great-grandfather was an English admiral. Puke time here I come.'' Betty told me :,,Post a million photos, will you?'' ,,Yeah. Yeah. Of course I will, I didn't eat anything the whole trip and trust me I'm starving.'' Betty asked me :,,Why don't you ask your butler?''

I told her :,,Watch you'll see, I bet those people don't even have a lousy sandwich in the fridge — What I tell you, not one lousy sandwich.'' I quickly closed the refrigerator door when suddenly a person was standing next it.
