Caladrius and Phoenix.

I stretched my arms yawning and opened my eyes. The brightness of the sun hit me so harshly that I closed my eyes quickly. I rubbed my eyes to adjust with the bright light. Oh. We fell asleep in the field. We never went back.

I remember last night so well. How Niall almost killed that man because he tried to drug me. How we had the most genuine moment in here. I looked at the arm that was wrapped around me. Unlike other criminals, Niall was tattoo free. All his cousins had tattoos but Niall didn't.

"Niall." He groaned lightly but remained sleep.
"Niall we fell asleep in the field. Wake up." I shook him lightly.
He let out a deep sigh but started waking up. Just like me he rubbed his eyes before fully opening them.

"Your parents must be worried."
He laughed lightly.
"What?" I asked.
"My parents? Worried? Nice joke."
"But"

"Darling, if my parents would know how to be worried, they wouldn't have left us with our grandparents before we even could talk." He said dryly.

"Hazel?"
His face softened. He truly loves his sister and would burn the entire world if someone tried to hurt her. Last week, Luke accidently bumped into Hazel caused her to fall and her knee to bruise a little. What did Niall do in response? Sprained Luke's ankles. Not ankle, ankles.

"She must be worried." I said.
He nodded standing up and offered his hand helping me on my feet as well.
We drove back home.

"Told you they were fine." Dominik told Hazel while reading the newspaper.
Niall was right. His parents were not worried, but Hazel was.
"Where were you?" Hazel asked worryingly.
"We were out. Don't worry about us." Niall said giving her a reassuring hug.
"Can we talk?" Hazel asked him.
He knitted his eyebrows together.
"Yeah." He followed her to her room.
Meanwhile Dominik's phone rang and he left the room as well.

"Have a seat dear." Layla said.
I smiled and sat down.
"Niall's different." She said.
"How different?" my detective senses came to an alert.
"I don't know. He's ... calmer."
"Oh?"
"I know he had a moment during dinner the other night, but it used to be a lot worse. Well he hasn't even came here for years. I saw him last year in London, he was ... much harsher than he was the other night."

I gave her a comforting smile.
"He has changed. I mean he willingly came to Ireland."
"To be honest he just came because of Hazel."
"I figured." She smiled sadly.
"Do you mind ... if I ask why he despises coming here? If you don't want to answer, it's okay."

"He grew up in London and unfortunately he doesn't have a good relationship with his father. I mean he calls his father by his first name." she said irritatingly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cross any lines and make you mad."
"Oh no." she smiled.
"I didn't get riled up because of your question, I just got mad at this mess."

"I just ... take care of my baby. He acts all tough and strong because of his sister. But even if you are built of stone, you would eventually crack due to all the pressure. So stay by his side and take care of him. Be there for him." She said softly.

This case was much harder than I expected.

I swallowed unable to respond to her. Dominik came back and grabbed his newspaper to read.

"You Fuckers!" Niall snapped coming inside.
Our heads darted toward him. I looked behind him and saw Hazel standing behind him with her head down.

"You ask us to come here for your Stupid wedding anniversary just so you could use Riley?!" Niall said madly.
What now?
"What?" Layla asked.
"Don't act all confused. You know what I'm talking about." Niall said. He was red out of anger.
"What is it now Niall? Who said what?" Dominik said with an annoyed expression.
Niall's nostrils flared.
"Riley, pack. We're leaving." He said through gritted teeth.
