—————

"Yeah?" I called once we heard someone knocking. We wiped our tears and parted away.
"Niall?" Hazel called coming inside.
"In here." I said.
I tried to keep quiet and let Hazel enjoy her time with our parents. But this house is killing me. The walls are tight and suffocating. The voices won't shut up and they keep talking to me.

If only you arrived home earlier.
If only you never left the house for that unworthy mission.
If only. If only. If only.
SHUT. UP.

"I'll leave you two alone." Riley said and left the room.
"I'm sorry Hazel. I know you wanted to have a weekend with them and I tried, I really did."
"It's okay Niall. I just wanted to check on you." She said smiling lightly.

If only you arrived home one second earlier.

"I'm fine." I said my chest squeezing. It's hard to breath.

You were only one door away. You could've stopped it. If only you stayed home that night.

"I also wanted to say." Hazel walked closer.
I let out a shaky breath. The voices won't leave me alone.

"I haven't forgotten the fact that you were the one who raised me. I appreciate it. You sacrificed many things because of me. I have the best brother ever." She hugged me. I hugged her tightly while my tear rolled down my cheek.

If only... I arrived home a second earlier.

"Can I come in?" I heard my mother say from behind the door.
I nodded wiping my tear so Hazel won't notice. Stay strong for your sister Niall. When you're weak she has no other shoulder to lean on. Stay. Strong.
I saw Hazel leaving the room.

My mother held my hands and smiled weakly at me.
"You did a fantastic job raising her Niall." I pulled my hands away and turned around not facing her.

"I don't want your pity." I said looking at her reflection through the window. She looked down.
"I'm sorry." She said.
I remained silent with my back facing her.
"I failed as your mother."
Silence.
"Letting you two go was not easy. For neither of us. But your grandfather-"

"My Grandfather Was not my parent." I cut her off turning around.

"You Were. You should've been the one who decided for our lives! You and Dominik."
"Dominik?" she gave me a confused look, since I called my 'father' by his first name.
"You know that how I feel about him so don't act all confused." I said.
She sighed.

"Do you think we're happy? As if we have the perfect house, the perfect life, the perfect fucking family. Do you know that Elijah hates me? Because he doesn't see me as his cousin, he sees me as his competition. He wants to be the one who takes the seat after grandpa. I look at him and I can see how every day he's planning to hurt me. You did this to us. You all did."

"None of you should've let him decide for us." I said quietly.

"He threatened us. He said he would cut you all off from his wealth-"
"WE NEEDED OUR PARENTS MORE THAN HIS STUPID WEALTH!" I yelled.
Such a bullshit excuse. She looked down crying. I took a deep breath.

"You all did wrong and you never admit it. Instead you give lame excuses."
"Honestly, uncle Leo did the best thing by deciding to not have children." I said walking past her to leave the room These damn walls are so suffocating.

You were only one door away. You could've stopped it. If only you stayed home that night.
If only-

"Are you okay?" Riley asked holding my hand.
She quiet the voices. She shut them up.
I nodded hugging her. She was caught off guard but she hugged me back.
