Third Person POV
It had been an inside joke for the Fates. They, unlike a lot of the other deities, believed in other realities. They had spent many millennia, pouring over ancient tomes, looking for a way to contact them. And one day, they succeeded.
They had met a species of ancient and intelligent animals that called themselves 'Lion Turtles,' and being bored with their long lives, they made an agreement of mischief. They agreed that, should any of them want to, the rest would follow along with any sort of prank, as long as it did not dish direct harm to either of the realms.
This started the Fates and the Lion Turtles favorite hobby, sending people to this other realm and then back again. This was why they would say to each other "They're acting like a tin-foil." and then chuckle immaturely. A tin-foil is what they called the people they sent to the other realm that came back a bit stranger than they went.
The day their 'harmless' pranks became complicated was the day the Fates sent an Olympian, because they did not consider the Olympians greatest flaw, their desire to be intimate with everything with two legs.

When you are immortal, at some point nothing surprises you. So to Poseidon's surprise, he was surprised. He had been transported to a place he was not familiar with. Looking around, he saw a place familiar to the South Pole as he knew it. He was in the middle of a raging blizzard, and he could not use his powers. He knew he couldn't use his powers because he was wet, soaking wet and miserable. There seemed to be nothing to do except to trudge along, hoping to find warmth. As he was trudging, he started to hear a voice.
"I must be going crazy." He murmured. Except he must not be because the voice was growing louder.
"Why are you out in the cold?" the voice said, not getting an answer because Gods make a point not to talk to the voices in their heads. He should have probably listened to this voice, because it was a person trying to help him. Perhaps if he listened to the voice, he wouldn't have passed out in the snow.
—
When he came to, he was awakened in his favorite way, by a beautiful woman.
"Who are you?" She asked, politely.
You see, Poseidon was not raised to give personal information to strangers. Kronos was a bad father, but still taught him stranger danger.
"My name is Kyle." Dam it, Poseidon thought. Why did I choose 'Kyle' as a fake name. There's so many other names.
"Hi, Kyle, my name is Kya." She said, with a smile sweeter than honey. Her smile and her bright blue eyes started to make Poseidon wonder if the oath counted here.
He decided that it wouldn't.

Third Person POV
"Ah!" Clotho screamed. They had been watching Poseidon for three weeks now, watching the blossoming romance. They, in their naivety, did not think Poseidon would go that far. They decided that they would send Poseidon back when Kya goes to sleep, and hope Kya doesn't conceive.
—
After Poseidon disappeared, Kya fell pregnant. Despite being loved by the tribe, she felt hopelessly alone. She had no family, and no one would want to start a family with her because she's pregnant, so the child currently in her belly is probably going to be her only family.
She was wrong.
— Two months later —
Kya had woken up that morning puking, as per usual. After managing to get herself ready for the day, she went to leave. After walking out, she saw Hakoda right outside her doorway.
"I... I mean my mother wants to invite you to dinner." Hakoda said, shaking.
"I accept the invitation, I would hang out with Kanna anytime." She said. Since Poseidon left her, Kanna, a sweet woman in the tribe, has tried to include her in her family as much as possible.
At the dinner, everyone had a good time, but Kanna seemed to have an especially good time because she kept looking between the two of them and smiling.
— A week later —
Again, after walking out of her house, she saw Hakoda.
"Has Kanna sent you to ask me for dinner again?" I asked.
"Yes... well no, Mom hasn't." He said, with a blush on his face.
"I am, though." He said.
