We spent a couple of days at home in a blissful bubble as a newly engaged couple with nobody but us knowing, as soon as we appeared in public there would be speculation about the ring on my finger. Chris family were the first to know about the engagement as they were coming into town and staying with us for a week long vacation. They couldn't have been happier for us as they welcomed me into the family right after first meeting them. As for my family, nobody knew yet and I definitely had to tell them before it came out in the press, I assume my father wouldn't be too happy about our news seeing as he's never met Chris personally just known of him from movies. I hadn't spoke to anyone from my family since my swift exit from Kensington Palace. I huff as I sit down on the bed flicking through my phone and pressing the call button on my fathers caller ID. I wait on him picking up and after a few rings it goes to voicemail, I set my phone down about to carry on with my day as my phone rings, it was him.
"Hi dad..."
"Hi sweetheart sorry I missed your call I was just about to answer when it stopped. How're you and Chris"
"That's ok, I'm glad you called back after my disagreement last time I was in England..."
"It's ok sweetheart, I had a conversation with you know who and told her that you weren't a little girl anymore and that she certainly shouldn't have mentioned Chris"
"Thank you dad, I appreciate that. Listen dad, there was a reason I was calling..."
"Go on..."
"Chris asked me to marry him and I said yes...". There was silence for a moment before I hear my dad clear his throat.
"Congratulations sweetheart I'm so happy for you, I know you're not a working member of the Royal family anymore but the option is there for you both to get married at Westminster and have the wedding televised like mine and your mothers. Of course I'll fund the whole thing if you want to get married in the UK or US, Money is of course no concern. I'll make sure my little girl had the best day of her life."
"We really appreciate that dad but we don't need you to play for our wedding, We haven't started planning or even looking at where we're going to get married yet. I'll let you know any updates when we have one but I wanted to tell you before it came out publicly. I have to go now, I love you. Speak soon".
I leave the bedroom going back to Chris and his family in the lounge, I sit beside Chris and smile as he asks if everything is ok. Chris youngest niece comes and sits on his lap batting her eyelashes at him making us both laugh. "What you after cheeky monkey" he asks the Blue eyed infant. "Uncle Chris, can we go to Disneyland?". He laughs asking if I'd like to go. "I've never been to Disneyland" I shrug and the infants jaw drops in disbelief. "I can't have my future wife miss out on the happiest place in the world any longer!". He stands up throwing the little girl in the air. "We're going to DISNEYLAND!!!!" She screams making us all laugh.
Around an hour we all got into cars and set off on the way to Disneyland, my hand was in Chris as he drove with his famous NASA hat on pairing it with black shorts and a white T-shirt - he really was dreamy. I wore a little white summer dress and strappy sandals. "Does Captain America get free entry into Disneyland?" I joke making Chris breath out a laugh. "I unfortunately don't as nice as it would be, even before I was Captain America and way before i was an actor the whole family would go. I can't believe you've never been, you don't know what you've been missing". I smile at how excited he was to go to Disney, let's hope it doesn't disappoint. We shortly arrive parking up and meeting the rest of the family. I buy everyone's ticket as my treat mainly because I'd feel bad if Chris bought them and I never liked it. We scan the tickets at the turnstiles and Chris takes my hand as we wander down Main street with the castle in full view at the end. I look around amazed. I, of course have heard of Disneyland and known of people who have went but I never expected it to be as amazing as it was. The whole day we were on ride after ride occasionally stopping for shade and a drink, I think Chris had bought us one of every Mickey style snack there was but my favourite was the Mickey Pretzel. Later on in the afternoon we watched the parade and had lunch at Casey Corner for hot dogs and to try yet another new thing - Tatter Tots. The whole Evans family submerged themselves in the Disney magic and I understand why they love it so much. The afternoon turned into the evening and we stood watching the fireworks now completely exhausted and exceeding our 10,000 a day steps. I look up at Chris seeing the colours of the fireworks in his eyes, I smile as he catches me looking at him. "I love you". "I love you too mrs Evans to be" he grins proud as punch.
