Tears slowly stream down my face as Charlotte walks past me smirking on her way out. I don't break eye contact with Chris once as he rushes towards me reaching for me but I back off shaking my head.

"Baby, please..." he softly speaks.
"She is not going to ruin our wedding day, we'll speak about it later but for now we're going back inside to our guests". I say as I walk away wiping my eyes.

The evening carried on like nothing had happened, there was an announcement that it was now time for myself and Chris to go and catch a plane for our honeymoon. We said our goodbyes and get in the car that's waiting with our luggage ready to take us to the airport. Both of us never said a word mainly because we never knew what to say, I look out the window with tears streaming down my face as I ask the driver to take me home. Chris looks at me and I can feel his stare, he nods to the driver to comply with my request and around midnight we arrive home, the house was quiet because Dodger was being looked after by Scott whilst we were away. I go straight to the bedroom taking off my dress and pulling on lounge wear, not exactly how I imagined spending my wedding night. Throughout the day both myself and Chris had been drinking and were definitely on the way to being drunk if we had a couple more, I wander down the hall and find Chris in the kitchen with a bottle of beer on the counter and his head in his hands. I hate seeing him like this but we need to talk and try and sort this out.

"Chris, we need to talk about what Charlotte said" I break the silence as I lean against the door frame, pushing myself off the wood I sit down at the kitchen island and Chris turns around wiping his eyes and taking a swig of his beer.

"I don't know what to say I really don't, I gained a wife and a son all in one day" he breaths out a sarcastic laugh. I narrow my eyes at him before deciding I wasn't doing this tonight and walk away, I go into the spare bedroom and get into bed. I hear Chris' footsteps coming along the hall before hearing our bedroom door shut. I contemplate most of the night what to do in this situation before deciding the best thing would be to give Chris some space for a couple of days to get his head straight, I scribbled a note on a pad before peeking my head into our bedroom - Chris was star fishing on the bed fast asleep but he'd most likely passed out from the alcohol. I tip toe into the room putting the pad next to his phone and wallet on the bedside table and grab my shoes and car keys quietly leaving the house I go across town to my old apartment, slumping down on the bed I wonder if I'd made the right decision as I look down at my new sparkly wedding ring.

Some may say I was running away from my problems but today is history, tomorrow is a mystery.
