The first day of school was almost over, and Taesan couldn't wait to get home and go straight to his room and be alone. It was all he wanted. He looked at the clock on the wall, it was only 3 minutes until 2 o'clock pm. He couldn't wait for the bell to ring.

'So, no one knows when the Qing Dynasty's rule ended?' the history teacher complained, a disappointed look on his face.

Taesan knew the answer, and he was certain other students knew the answer, but no one seemed to be willing to say anything. Everyone seemed tired and bored with the class.

Before the teacher could say anything, the bell rung, and the students started to pack their things. The teacher knew that whatever he said now would go in through one ear and leave through the other, so he started to pack his things as well and was the first to leave.

Amy-Janette got up from her seat and watched Taesan. He was quickly packing up his things, and she could tell he was in a rush to leave. He probably didn't want to spend another moment in the classroom.

She wanted to walk with him; they headed the same direction anyway. So she also quickly started to pack her things so she could have a chance to meet him.

'Where are you rushing to?' Lily asked her friend in surprise; it was so unlike her to leave very early. The two would usually stay a little while longer and catch up with some of their class friends.

'Oh you know, I have something to do.'

Lily peered over at Taesan who had just packed his last book, and she already deciphered what was going on.

'Geez,' Lily complained. 'This is real life AJ, don't expect him to act like those movie character guys. He probably doesn't even have a personality.'

'Well, there's only one way to find out.'

'Amy-Janett,' Jaehyun's familiar voice said as he walked over to her. 'I haven't seen you the whole day.' He finally stopped in front of her.

'Yeah, you too,' she tried to be as nice as possible, watching Taesan as he rushed out the classroom.

'So I guess this is the perfect time to at least have a conversation with you.' He had a hopeful smile.

'I'd really love to Jaehyun, but I have to go,' she said quickly, rushing past him and leaving him in wonderment.

Jaehyun looked down at Lily who was packing her books as well, as if waiting for an explanation.

'I'm sorry, she's in a hurry.' Her friend said as she strapped her pink bag over her shoulders.

'Oh,' he answered lowly, sounding disappointed. He looked at the floor. He had gone through this too many times to act like it didn't matter. 'Lily?' he suddenly asked her.

'Yeah?'

'Do you think Amy-Janett likes me? Do you think she'll ever like me?' he had decided to ask her. He should have done so a long time ago, but it was a question he found difficult. At first, every single voice in his head said "yes, she does like you". It was inevitable. But now, he had become doubtful. Too many times she had made excuses and left him standing there, not putting any effort to talk to him or even see him

'Well...' she didn't know what to say. She knew Amy-Janett had never said anything about Jaehyun that proved that she liked him, in fact, it seemed that he annoyed her. But she couldn't say that, and she really sincerely believed her best friend would eventually change her mind and accept Jaehyun – he was still the best boy in the town. 'I don't know, she's never said anything. But I think it's pretty obvious that she likes you. Who wouldn't?'
