It had been nearly 2 years but no one had lost a child. Lucien tried to help Tamlin with the promise of not telling any high lord about Dawn.

After another thew months he finally asked the high lord's directly through a fire message if anyone in their court has recently lost a child. Some replied. Nothing from Rhysand.

They started lessons with Dawn since he took it that she didn't yet have an education. But, the mind. Boy, did that girl have a mind. And as soon as she started talking you couldn't get her to shut up.

Not that he wanted her to stop talking. He loved the sound of her sweet little voice. But, she was interested in everything.

She loved learning. He'd mustered enough courage to get her a tutor when he had learned her all that he already knew and yet she still wanted to know more.

But more than anything she loved her horses. If she wasn't in the libary reading her books she would be on the back of a horse galloping through meadows.

A 4 year old. Could you believe it. His heart beat still quickened every time she got on a horse but she had a natural gift with them. She looked after them and they looked after her.

And then there was the other issue. When she was once 3 she saw him shape shift again. And the next morning she did the same. He didn't know how it was possible. It wasn't suppose to be possible. It was like she just saw what he did and copied it. Like the magic manifested within her blood.

How much has changed in the last two years. The sentries were back. The maids. He knew it had little to do with him and was all about Dawn. And boy did they fuss about her.

She didn't see them as lesser faeries or anything. No they were all her friends.

She'd constantly play hide and seek. The one time the sentries got so nervous that they couldn't find her. They thought they'd lost her. And it almost broke the one sentries heart.

Up until she almost broke him leaping from the roof onto his back giving everyone a near heart attack. She was reckless but more than that she was also caring. She'd made it her life's mission to go on picnics with the sentries. And at night She'd point that little finger and He'd have to turn into his beast form as she jumped up and cuddle on in his fur. If this wasn't true love. He didn'tknow what was.

She  became the heart of the spring court and was its best kept secret. For now at least.

Dawn came skipping into the dining room with her little pink dress already torn and leaves and flowers stuck in her hair that Maura had braided so neatly this morning.

She placed her book on the table sliding onto the chair before opening the page again.

"Dawn?"

" Yes ?"

" Eat first and then you can read sweetheart."

" But, please. I'm just got to the good part."She said giving him the puppy eyes.

Tamlin narrowed his eyes and smiled.

"And how long is that good part?"

" Only ten chapters." She said as she shrugged her shoulder.

" Just ten." Tamlin lifted his brows.

She once again glared at him but put her book down.

She had nearly finished her meal when the darkness of night sweld in. The darkness Tamlin  knew all  too well.

Rhysand!

" What you want Rhysand!"

"I want  lot of things. But, for now I'll settle for knowing why you inquired about missing children."  and then he gaze went over  to Dawn." I guess now I do."
