Onyx and the others were training Lloyd on the deck of the Bounty, which they had restored to its former glory. "Whatcha looking at?" Onyx asked, trotting over to Lloyd. He had drifted away from training and was staring at something over the edge of the Bounty. Lloyd pointed at three kids playing with a ball in the courtyard of Jamanakai village. "We never get to play like that," he grumbled. Onyx shifted. He did have a point. Now that she thought about it, they never really got to just be kids.

"Hey, focus," Kai said. Lloyd just looked at him. "Now that the Bounty is in our possession again, we can train you more effectively. But you'll have to focus. One more time," Zane said. Lloyd sighed. "We've been training all day," he complained. "Y'know, he's right. I'm kinda tired," Onyx said. "Onyx, don't encourage it. It's all to get you ready to face your father. Now, in position," Cole said, giving Lloyd an order. He sighed and obeyed.

Onyx slipped into position too, preparing to run at him. When Kai gave the go, she stayed back and let him, Jay, and Zane have a shot before dashing forward and trying to sweep his legs out from under him. He countered by sidestepping and using his Spinjitzu to toss her back. 'He's really gotten better,' Onyx thought from where she was lying on the deck.

She stayed down for another moment before getting up in time to see Cole slide kick him, sending him flipping through the air, landing facefirst. Onyx flinched. She knew he would be fine, but it still looked painful. Lloyd sat up. "That was fun. Are we done now?" He asked. "Oh, come on. You're better than this. What's on your mind?" Jay asked.

Lloyd got to his feet. "Well...The latest issue of Starfarer just came in at Doomsday Comix, and it's a limited run, so if I don't go out and get it, it's going to sell out. Last they left off, intergalactic rogue Fritz Donnegan was surrounded by the Imperial Sludge, and if I don't find out if he gets out alright, I think I might have my own doomsday," he said. Onyx wiggled uncomfortably. It had been a while since she had last gotten a new book or volume of manga. Kai sighed. "The fate of Ninjago rests on your shoulders. As the Green Ninja, you have a giant responsibility to hold. I'm sorry, but you don't have time for such childish things," he said.

Lloyd groaned. "Other kids get to play and have fun. All I ever do is train," he said. "He does have a point. We never get to just be kids," Onyx agreed, walking up beside Lloyd. Kai and the others glanced at each other. She couldn't tell what they were thinking. "Guys, there's been a break-in at the Ninjago City Museum of History, and the security cameras picked up you-know-who," Nya said, coming up from below deck. "Garmadon!" Cole spat. "We have to stop him before he uses the Mega Weapon to start another one of his diabolical plots," Jay said.

Lloyd's face lit up hopefully. Off the boys' looks, he sighed. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't go and it's safer if I stay here," he said. "Sorry Lloyd. Maybe-" Kai interrupted Onyx. "That goes for you too, Onyx," he said. "Wha-huh? Why?" She cried. "You were just complaining about not being able to "just be a kid." So stay here and just be a kid," he said. Onyx made an apoplectic gasping sound. "That's not what I meant, and you know it!" She argued. Kai crossed his arms. "It's not negotiable. You're staying here," he said. Onyx growled in frustration. "Fine!" She snapped, stomping off below deck.

Lloyd followed a moment later, finding Onyx angrily dumping coffee grounds onto the counter. "What are you doing?" He asked. "They told me to be a kid, so I'm misbehaving. I'm switching the coffee with pepper," she answered. She knew it was spiteful, but she didn't care at the moment. Lloyd narrowed his eyes thoughtfully for a moment. "You should do the salt and sugar too," he said before walking back in the direction of his room.

The next morning, the others still hadn't returned, and Onyx was starting to worry. She and Lloyd were sitting on a beanbag, reading their lesson books. Or, rather, Onyx was reading hers. Lloyd was holding a comic book inside his. "Oh, they should be back by now," Nya said. "I fear something horrible has happened to them. Lloyd, you're in charge of the Bounty while Nya and I have a look around town. Onyx, keep him out of trouble," Wu said. She nodded and watched him leave.
