Onyx and the others stood on deck, watching the water roll beneath their ship. Cole was clinging onto the edge, just now getting over his seasickness. Onyx had calmed herself down, and whilst she still held a degree of animosity toward the ocean, she wasn't finding the experience too bad.
"I wonder what's on the island?" Kai wondered. "An entirely new ecosystem?" Zane suggested excitedly. "Never before seen creatures?" Cole murmured. "Oh, vegetables that taste like dessert?" Jay exclaimed. Onyx frowned. "Probably a lot of trouble," she said. "I hope the Stone Army is there. They may have gotten the best of us once, but never again," Kai swore. Onyx nibbled on her nail as the others agreed. That would definitely fall under the category of trouble.
Lloyd sighed, the ocean reflected in his serious eyes. "I wonder if this is the end of our destiny," he said. The mood sombered immediately. Kai turned to the horizon, where the sun was setting. "If it is, there isn't anyone else I'd want by my side," he said softly. Onyx nodded. "I agree. I'll stick with you until the end," she promised, both to Lloyd and herself. "Hear hear," Jay said. "You said it," Cole murmured. Zane suddenly froze, his eyes glazing over. "My Falcon has arrived at the Dark Island!" He exclaimed, hurrying below deck.
Zane hooked a pair of goggles up to the computer and slipped them down over his eyes. "There, now we can all see," he said. The ninja watched the screen intently. The falcon was soaring over a thick canopy of dark green trees. After a moment it flew over a clearing, in which stood a Stone Warrior. It glanced up at the falcon. Then, before the mechanical bird had the chance to do anything, the Warrior flung a chakram that spun up and hit the falcon, plunging the screen into dark.
Zane gave a panicked cry and flung the goggles off, staggering back. He stared at the dark screen in shock. "He... he's gone," he whispered. "We don't know that," Wu said. The ninja stepped over to him. "Oh, Zane. I'm so sorry," Nya said softly. Onyx clenched her fist. "We won't allow them to get away with this. The Falcon will not have died in vain," she swore. Kai nodded. "Yeah. He was our friend too, so if the Stone Army wants a fight, they got one," he promised.
Misako gasped as the sky began to turn dark. "Well, that's going to have to wait because right now, we're sailing straight for a storm. All hands on deck!" She shouted. Onyx tensed up. A storm. A storm. 'Nonono, there can't be a storm! The weather was so good earlier, and there was no smell of one...!' Onyx knew that this was one of the storms that just appeared suddenly over the water. These were the most dangerous kind. "Onyx, it will be alright. Come on!" Zane said, grabbing her arm and pulling her up on deck.
Onyx swallowed her fear and grabbed onto a dangling rope, using it to try and straighten the sail, which was flapping back and forth, sending them spinning in circles. Most of the others were doing similar things. Lloyd and Cole were helping with the sail, and Zane and Kai were running around securing barrels and trying to prevent their supplies from going overboard. "Hold the line!" Cole shouted as Onyx nearly lost her grip on the rope as a gust of wind slammed into the sail.
"The winds are too strong!" Lloyd cried, sliding a bit as the sail pulled at them. "We need everyone's help, Jay!" Zane yelled, tackling a barrel before it could hit Kai. Jay clung onto the doorframe leading below deck. "But I don't wanna get wet. I...I only have one pair of underwear!" He cried. "Jay, this is no time to be making jokes. The Bounty can only take so much!" Kai roared, grabbing Zane's collar, barely preventing him from flying overboard.
"You think I'm trying to be funny?" Jay shrieked. Laughter rang out across the deck. Onyx assumed one of the boys was giving a terrified gallows laugh. "Okay, laugh all you want, but we'll see who laughs last when I have to go commando!" Jay added, running out on deck. "It's nothing new! You never lock the bathroom door!" Onyx screamed, the rope raising her off the deck. Lloyd grabbed her ankle and yanked her back down. She didn't have time to thank him.
