Onyx jumped up when an alarm clock went off in the boys' room across the hall. She'd already been awake, as she'd had an odd dream about a clock and an unnerving floating pink orb, but the screechy beeping made sure of it. 'Why is it so loud?' She thought irritably as she stepped behind her shoji screen to get dressed.
There was a rapping on the doorframe. "Onyx, are you up? It's time for sunrise exercise!" Wu's voice said. "Yes, Sensei. I'm up," she called, tossing her pajamas into her and Nya's hamper and stepping out from behind the screen. "Good, good! Up on deck!" He ordered with a grin. Onyx held back a sigh. Typically, the happier Wu was the more brutal the training.
Onyx walked out into the hall and nearly ran into Lloyd. The two leapt back just in time. "Sorry, Onyx," he apologized quickly. Onyx waved a hand dismissively. It happened a lot, as the ship hallways were narrow. Onyx frowned at him. He had an uncharacteristically sour look on his face. "Are you alright?" She asked. Lloyd sighed. "Yeah, I just got stuck on dragon duty again," he said, starting up on deck with her. Onyx winced. She'd cleaned up after Fade the night before, and what with the size and diet of dragons, it was no laughing matter. "Oof. Good luck with that," she said.
Lloyd groaned softly. "How does paper bear rock, anyway? I always have to do the dirty work," he mumbled, leaping off the deck and crossing over to the dragon."Hey, having a pet dragon requires a lot of responsibility," Cole pointed out. "Yeah, didn't your mom ever let you have a pet?" Jay asked. Lloyd's frown deepened. "I don't remember my mother. She abandoned me when I was really young," he murmured. "I'm sorry," Onyx said. Their past situations had been different, but she knew it hurt all the same. The others glanced at each other. "She just left? Who took care of you?" Kai asked. "I spent my whole life at Darkley's Boarding School," Lloyd answered, looking away.
Before they could say anything else, Nya slid down the Bounty's anchor, landing next to Onyx. "Hey, I have a mission for you guys. It's the Museum of Ninjago! They've asked for you. Something really strange has happened," Nya said. "What?" Kai asked. Nya shook her head. "You're gonna have to see it to believe it," she said.
Lloyd hurried up to Nya. "Here, hold this," he said, handing her a black trash bag before quickly leaping onto the Ultra Dragon and flying off. "Sorry about that," Onyx said, mounting Fade and following Lloyd's example. She never thought she'd see the day Lloyd pulled one over on someone.

The ninja stopped in front of the museum, where an elderly man was waiting anxiously for them. "Oh, thank heavens you're here!" He cried, ushering them inside. "What's going on?" Onyx asked. "Quickly, this way. The Stone Warrior exhibit opens to the public tonight, and this couldn't have come at a worse time," he said, not answering Onyx's question.
"Uh, what couldn't have come at a worse time?" Kai asked. "Ninjago City appreciates your help in destroying the Great Devourer some time back, but it appears its toxic venom has seeped into the city sewer system and has had the most unusual after-effect," he said, leading them through a hallway where workers were scrubbing vibrantly green venom off of the tiled floor. Onyx gagged when the stench, a stinging acidic stench mixed with sewage, hit her nose. The others cried out in disgust, pulling their shirts up over their noses.
The museum curator ignored their reactions and pushed open a door, revealing a gift shop full of tiny stone figurines that were dashing around and making a mess of things. "The toxicity in the venom somehow brought our merchandise to life! They're so unruly. I just don't know who else to call!" He exclaimed.
Zane yelped as one of the figurines leapt at him, hitting him in the face with its tiny sword. He grabbed the thing and flung it against the wall, effectively shattering it to pieces. "At least they're somewhat delicate," Onyx said, kicking one away from her and watching it break against a table. "We've got this covered. I think we can handle a few toys," Jay assured the curator, who nodded and backed away. "And please, could you contain the fighting to the gift shop? The doors to the new exhibit will be opening soon. Thank you!" He said, snapping the doors shut.
