The five of us all pile into Adam's expensive looking car. I'm unsure how he even afforded this since he's unemployed. Maybe he stole it.
He turns back towards us. "Don't touch anything! Don't touch the windows, and don't get your messes anywhere got it?" He stares directly at me. It takes all my willpower not to roll my eyes at him.
I shift my focus away from him, gazing at the neighborhood as it is fading behind us. Adam turns on the radio and I slightly just wish I had my phone back. Just wishing for something to entertain myself with while on this boring car ride. We drive a town over as Adam looks for a place to eat.
This town is small and not one that I'm familiar with. Despite passing multiple restaurants and fast food joints, Adam continues the drive.
"Are we gonna stop to eat somewhere or?" Ryan questions him. Our confusion is evident, and Jaylinn even glances up at her psychotic boyfriend.
"No, I cooked a lovely meal for my family and they can't even appreciate my hard work." His dark eyes stare at the road as the small town now is receding in the rear view mirror.
"Babe, I love you but that stew was not edible." Jaylinn states which makes Adam clutch the steering wheel tightly as he speeds the car up.
"Adam where are we going! Slow down!" I screech from the back seat. My hand grips the seat firmly. Fearing that maybe his plan is to just crash and kill us all.
Adam doesn't say anything as he continues driving like a maniac. He doesn't slow down until we are out of the city environment.
Trees begin to appear as he turns down a small dirt road. There isn't much out here. Dirt, rocks, and some dry trees until a nice family house appears out of no where.
"Babe, I thought we were going to eat. Where are we? Who's house is this?" Jaylinn is beyond pissed at this point.
"Well our kids are spoiled little brats who don't appreciate a homemade meal that I worked hard on making for my lovely family. They think we are strict, maybe they will change their unruthly behavior when they meet their grandparents." He parks the car turning off the engine.
So this lunatic tries to kill is with his erratic driving and now he is expecting us to just waltz into this stranger's house. All on top of us having empty stomachs, and not to mention no one packed a bag. Not us kids, not Jaylinn, not Adam.
"Babe I understand you want to introduce the kids to your parents but this is not the way to do it. No one even packed an overnight bag, we are all hungry. Do your parents even have room for a family of 5 to stay the night? You should have told me you wanted us to come meet them. We should be prepared for this." Jaylinn rubs her boyfriend's shoulder in a loving manner.
Adam disregards the instructions as he turns the engine off, swiftly exiting the vehicle. Jaylinn gets out too while us kids stay seated in the back seat. If his parents are anything like him, I fear that we won't survive the night here.
The creaking of Adam throwing open the back door breaks my thoughts.
"Out! Now!" He screams his temper exploding. I began to regret not eating his stupid stew and I'm certain the boys feel exactly the same way.
We all scramble out of the back seat as Adam slams the door shut with force. He grabs Jaylinn's hand as the two approach the front door.
I am still petrified with fear unable to move. The boys and I stay back as the two adults head up to the porch. Adam doesn't even knock, as he opens the door.
"Adam!!" An older woman steps out on the porch before Adam is able to make it inside.
"Hey mom! Sorry it's been a while since you've heard from me but thought I'd bring the family up to meet you." Adam holding Jaylinn's hand still, he flashes a smile at his mom.
