The sun peeking through the window wakes me up early the following morning. While sitting up in bed, I observe the boys who are still asleep and bundled underneath their blankets.

I feel unsure as to what to do. I could get up, take a shower, put some clean clothes on or stay in bed not having to see anyone until Jaclyn and Adam return home in a few hours. That seems like a better idea to me.

Just as I am about to lay back down Conrad and Janice enter the room.

"Good morning children. Did you sleep well?" Janice questions as she opens the curtain more allowing the sunlight to brighten the room.

The boys both pull the blankets over their head ignoring Janice.

"Come on kids you need to get up and get ready. Your parents will be home soon." Conrad pulls the blankets off the boys.

"Grandpa when are you gonna take me back to the doctor to hopefully get my cast off for good?" I question Conrad, hating myself for calling him that. I have been itching to get this thing off permanently though.

"I'm not sure sweetie. I will talk to your mom today about getting an appointment scheduled. It should about be time for it to come off though." He smiles brightly at me.

"Okay." I respond with a single word, while getting some clean clothes to change into.

I settle on wearing some black leggings and a baby pink crop top with little black hearts scattered around it not even caring that Jaylinn will be pissed about the crop top when she gets home.

After struggling to get the leggings over my cast I quickly do my hair in a messy bun. Feeling satisfied with my outfit I return downstairs to the boys already being dressed in some jeans and random T-shirts that Jaclyn's parents probably picked out before they took us.

Jaclyn's parents don't say anything about my outfit and maybe that's a good thing.

I find a place to sit on the couch, the boys following my actions just as the front door is opened. Jaclyn enters first followed by Adam.

I notice that she actually has a sparkly ring on her finger. Maybe Adam stole it, or maybe they stole it together. I think to myself knowing that there is no way he could have afford a ring for her. Let alone a ring that fancy.

"Mom dad! Look at this ring!" Jaclyn shows off her new fancy diamond ring to her parents.

"It's beautiful sweetheart! Congratulations you two." Janice gives her daughter a hug. Conrad shakes hands with Adam.

"Adam gambled while on the trip and we made enough for a ring." Jaclyn has happy tears running down her face.

I remain quiet not wanting to draw attention to myself or my outfit. The adults chat about their trip, from the money they won gambling, to ring shopping, and of course the actual wedding. Which according to Jaclyn was just a simple one at a courthouse.

"How were the kids? Did they behave?" Jaclyn finally decides to bring us up in her conversation with her parents.

"They were good honey. I enjoyed some quality time with my grandchildren." Janice vocalizes out loud with a smile.
