I wake up the next morning to the sounds of Adam yelling and cursing downstairs.
I pull the covers over my head, unwilling to listen to his obnoxious voice anymore.
The boys burst through my door a second later; Ryan quickly closes the door and stands against it.
I sit up in bed, staring at the boys just as the harsh knocking begins on the other side of the door.
William turns the lock on the door in lightning speed.
"You rotten kids." Adam's words sound slurred together.
"Is- is he drinking?" I get out of bed staring at the boys.
"Yep!" The two boys hide behind me.
"Where is Jaclyn?" I start wondering why she hasn't came to get her treacherous boyfriend yet.
"She left for work." Ryan stays hidden behind me using me as a human shield.
"So she finally decides to go back to work, and leave us with her boyfriend who is drunk at..." I glance at the clock on the wall. "6:50 in the morning."
"Open this door right now!!" Adam bangs on the door fiercely.
"Where are Jaclyn's parents?" I ask the boys wondering if he was the only adult here.
"Conrad is at work, and Janice went to the store." Ryan states, the three of us standing next to each other staring at the door.
"Come on let's move the dresser quickly." Ryan and William work together to move the dresser in front of the door. I move out of the way.
"So we are just suppose to hope that the dresser will hold until Janice gets home?" I stare at the door noticing the banging getting slower.
"Or wait until this." William laughs as we hear Adam fall against the door.
"Did- did he pass out?" I question out loud with a perplexed look on my face.
Ryan lets out a sigh of relief. "Yes."
The three of us move to my bed.
"We could try jumping out the window again." William says while laughing.
"Ummm we should probably try to wait until Annalise is completely out of the cast before risking her breaking another bone." Ryan gives us a look saying with his eyes that the window is not gonna be our best bet for escaping.
"Well it's not like we can just waltz out the front door. Yes Jaclyn and Conrad have both returned to work; but that still leaves Janice and Adam in the house." William fidgets with his hands.
"Janice we could probably just sneak by, Adam on the other hand he will be harder to trick." I get up from the bed and pace around the room.
"Ummm Adam is passed out on the floor." Ryan points to the door.
"I mean when he's not drinking!" I roll my eyes at the boys.
"Let's go have some breakfast." We all push the dresser back to it's spot on the wall. William grabs my hand gently and the three of us leave my bedroom. We step over Adam, who is still passed out by the door. Ryan kicks him in the head when leaving the room.
"Sorry Adam your big head was in the way of the door." Ryan laughs as he is able to close the door completely now.
We head down to the kitchen, William opens the refrigerator door.
"Where is Adam?" The three of us jump. Janice is putting groceries away in the kitchen, her body hidden behind the pantry door. None of us even heard her come inside.
