"What are you doing in here?" Adam grabs Tate's wrist tightly dragging her out of my safe arms. He pulls her out of the room, Tate's blood curling screams can be heard the entire time.
"Don't hurt her!!" I scream at Adam tears running down my face as he pulls her out of the room.
"Your sister is grounded Tate you're not suppose to be in here. Get out!" Tate is forced out of the room by him in a rough manner. She stumbles but doesn't lose her balance.
"Yes sir, I'm sorry." Tate runs away in tears. Adam turns to me.
"What was she doing in here? We don't need you corrupting her!" The volume of his voice resonates throughout the room.
"I didn't call her in here Adam! She entered my room at free will to talk!" I shout back at him.
"I asked why!" He stares darkly at me. His cold eyes penetrate my soul.
"She was upset! She shared with me the story of the orphanage from which you two kidnapped her. Okay and she expressed her happiness in having us as a family, even though we are not a traditional family. Okay that's all she said." I turn my back to Adam refusing to look at him.
"You will stay in your room the rest of the day. Your doctor's appointment is in the morning we leave at 8. Don't be late!" He points a finger at me before storming out of my room.
While letting out a sigh I lay down on my bed staring at the ceiling. Wondering what I did to end up in this position? Wondering what made me stand out in class? What made Jaclyn pick me out of all the other girls in class? Why did she pick me? I'm not special, I have a mother with a drug problem, haven't seen my father in years. Lived on and off with my aunt for years while my mother tried to get clean and sober. Then she finally manages too. She won the long 3 month custody battle her and my aunt had. Just to lose me again. Thinking I'm dead. Not knowing I am alive, but that is Trevor's fault. Unfortunately I can't blame Adam for the world thinking I'm dead.
My door opens quietly; I look over wondering if Tate came back but I'm greeted by William instead.
He approaches quietly and sits next to me on the bed. He takes my hand holding it gently.
"What's the plan?" He whispers softly in my ear.
"I don't know. Every time we try to escape we end up right back here where we started." I stare blankly at the wall.
"You could mention something at the doctors." He says to me quietly.
"Yeah and when would I get the chance to with Adam being there. He will be in the room with me the entire time I guarantee you. Conrad was when he took me so Adam will be no different." I stare at the floor my legs shaking.
"Why doesn't anyone recognize you as the missing teen from the news?" Willam gets lost in his thoughts.
"I don't know. No one has questioned it. At least no one did last time when Conrad took me to my doctor's appointment." I shrug my shoulders. Maybe people just don't watch the news anymore.
"Will you at least come downstairs with me? I can't stand to be around them without you. We barely made a dent in the day." William seems agitated.
"I can't Adam said I'm grounded. He told me I'm to stay in my room all day. You have Ryan and Tate." I can tell he really doesn't want to have to be in the same room as Jaclyn and Adam without me.
"Ryan and Tate are not the same as you." He whispers in my ear while holding my hand.
"William please just leave before Adam comes in here. You're gonna get me in more trouble." I pull my hand out of his soft touch.
