seven years ago (minho - 18, jisung - 16)

"i'll promise you sungie. i'll be back in three years! we'll call and text every day, okay? we'll be okay i promise!"

three years later (minho - 21, jisung - 19)

"sungie! i have good and bad news!" minho sighed over the phone.

"w-what's up?" his boyfriend hesitantly asked. he had a feeling of what was to come, but he felt guilty for not wanting it to come through.

"well, the good news is..." the elder dragged it out, making his own drum roll sounds, " I HAVE BEEN SCOUTED!!" he giggled.

"oh my god!!!! congrats jagi-yah!!" jisung yelled excitedly. but deep down...

this. this exactly was what jisung had expected. well, of course, he would have been scouted! minho's such a great dancer that the talent scouters would be blind to even oversee it. but as much as jisung was genuinely happy, he knew it meant more years without minho by his side.

a sigh sounded through the phone call making the elder's excited mood drop as well. "i'm guessing you also know what it means right babe...?"

"don't get me wrong, i love you so fucking much, and i'm so fucking happy for you because this is your dream and your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. and i'm not going to leave you if you're worried about that. i'm staying, and i'm gonna support you from seoul. i just wanna know, how much longer do we need to go without us being physically by each other sides? cause i miss you so damn much." jisung basically rapped.

by the end, minho was nearly in tears. he had been worried and anxious the whole day, wondering what would be the best way to break the news to jisung, and how the younger would take it. so relief was an understatement when he heard jisung's mini-speech. he just felt so thankful that the younger wasn't mad about it.

"four years...my contract is four years in japan, and another three years in korea..." minho sighed while the other end got quiet.

"four years for me to finish university, get a good job, and get us an apartment. got it." jisung grinned, fairly proud at how far his boyfriend had come.

"i believe you'll be one of korea's biggest producers baby! you also have chan hyung and binnie by your side! you three make a great trio bubs!" minho chirped, "also, i'll chip in for the apartment. it's ours after all." he added, making the younger smile.

recent times, four years later (minho - 25, jisung - 23)

it has been a few days since the couple had last talked. nothing out of the oddinary though. (did you see what i did there? 😏)

it was common for the two to have really busy periods till they barely have time to chat during the day. this time, it was jisung's deadline. he and the couple's other two mutual friends, chan and changbin, had been scouted by jyp entertainment a year ago after being on soundcloud for two years.
