-Saturday, 6pm-
I am in a training area with Ethan, surrounded by tall concrete walls. It looks like an old building from the 1960's, but it's fine for me. You can smell a strong tone of bricks. I put on my sneakers and get comfortable with the hard floor. Stretching would be a good idea now.
"Alright, let's see what Spidergirl can do!" Ethan exclaimed with a playful grin. He takes out his phone to document.
"You will be surprised." Maybe I trust myself a little too much here.
"Step one, sticking. Try to climb up that wall." He points at a crusty wall with damaged bricks. Dude, this building has been standing here for at least 50 years.
"Are you trying to kill me?" I joke.
"Come on Spidergirl, the city won't save itself." He seems to be stubborn, but he is right. I have to do this. I take a deep breath and focus. My hands softly touch the wall. I have no idea how to "activate" my powers, so I just think about sticking. And to my surprise, it works. I'm am basically super-glued to the wall. This activates a high amount of dopamine in my brain and I start to jump out of excitement.
Ethan is happy aswell. "Good job, and now the feet."
I nod. With caution I press the front of my left foot against the wall, thinking about sticking again. It works. My right foot starts a small jump, which the rest my body then continues. Reaching the end of the jump, my right foot sticks to the wall aswell. "I did it!", screaming with joy.
"That was amazing!" Ethan smiles. With pride I continue to climb up the rest of this crusty wall.
-15 minutes later-
I am done with my first session, waiting for Ethan to give me my next task.
"Step two, spidey-senses. Try to keep up with me."Ethan tries to throw a few punches, failing to land any of them. My spidey-senses are too strong for that. He keeps trying but everytime his hand is about to land in my face, I can feel the air aiming towards me and wipe out with no effort. I can sense every attack, every little move. I have never felt like this before. It's like something else is in full control of my body and speed. I could get used to it. My hearing is the same as a police dog's.
We fight for about 5 minutes, until Ethan gives up. I haven't even thrown a punch yet, only dodged.
"Wow, I can't believe I'm about to say that, but you're too much for me Sarah." Ethan's face is completely red, he is grasping for air. He is so tired, let alone his balance, that probably won't last for very long. He walks towards his phone to turn of the cam, his face is revealing the pissed attitude.
I throw a few punches and kicks while he rests his exhausted body on the bank.
"Told you bruh." I show off.
"Five years of training and this is the result." You can tell by his face expression that he isn't just joking, but really disappointed of himself. Damn, I didn't mean to hurt him like that.
I try to cheer him up by explaining that I was the exception. "You're being to harsh with yourself Ethan, any average fighter would already have lost in the first two minutes. Remember, you're fighting against a Super-Spider." He is very good at fighting, but so am I, even without spider powers I am well trained.
He thinks for a moment. "You're right. Sorry about that, this is not about me. Let's get back to work." It seems that he actually tries to ignore what just happened. I say nothing.
"That's enough fighting for today, you need to rest before all all of this becomes too much." He announces. I am confused.
"But didn't you just say we should get back to work?" I lift an eyebrow and wait for his answer.
