"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." - Hamlet

I've been thinking about this since the day I read it. And everytime I completely detached from reality, digging into the roots of this world. I would tell myself that only we humans (and animals ofc) categorize things based on how we feel about them. Someone stole your purse? Bad. You have the best grades? Good. There is murder and starving people in the world? Bad. Is it because some rich motherfuckers only care to fill their pockets? Yes, and bad. Of course the human brain originally did this for survival a few billion years ago, but like it or not, this hasn't changed much. I would then think about how nothing is good or bad... it simply is. There is no way the atoms that make up our body think it's bad when they move to make the body steal something. They don't even have consciousness to think anything. It is the brain that decides what is good or bad? But the brain is made of atoms too, just tiny energy balls. But the brain releases hormones that lead to certain emotions, anger, sadness, happiness, guilt. But still, who is to decide which is good or bad? These are all just labels we put on certain hormone expressions, "emotions". The emotions themselves don't tell you they're good or bad, there has to be something else that determines. Therefore I don't believe that we are just flesh and blood with a brain. I  don't believe that all we are is some atomic structure. Even though there is not really proof of a soul, I think it's the only logical explanation. Maybe it's not a soul, maybe it's pure consciousness. Either way, we are not our feelings or our thoughts, there has to be someone who thinks the thoughts. Without consciousness we wouldn't be aware of anything. Not even emotions. Amd every human body gets its consciousness? But you know what is crazy? How come I am conscious of this body and not a different one? Since I am pure conciousness, what decides what body I go into? Myself? The consciousness itself? That's what I've been trying to find out. All I think I know is I am consciousness in a body whichs thoughts I'm aware of. In a meaningless world, I am an existence in a body that can think on it's own. And yes I think the quote is true, but i always feel the need to dig deeper.

"Sarah!"

"Huh" I say and come back to reality. It's  Fury, he looks kinda mad. Seems like I've been thinking too much again. I came to him to report about my mission, but we finished minutes ago.

"Come on, everyone is leaving." Right, the school day is as good as over. I told Peter I would meet him after school, poor guy has been waiting for over 20 minutes.

I head to the exit and look for Peter. There he is, waving his hand.
"Peter."

"Sarah, finally. What have you been doing?" he says in a higher pinched voice.

"Oh you know I had to help my mom with some important documents via phone so I went to the bathroom. Sorry for making you wait so long." Phew.

"It's alright, now let's go." Right, Peter and me are going to visit that kid Nathan threatened. We hope he can help us find out more. Normally I would do this alone, but Peter is helpful and I have social anxiety. After that we will hang out.

...

*Ding dong*

"Bob, will you open the door?"

"K."

*opens door*

"Peter?" Bob lifts an eyebrow. He is the last person he expected to knock on that door.

Peter smiles uncomfortably. "H-heyyyy Bob. H-how are you?"

"How do you think I am, after what Nathan did to me?"

Silence.

He looks at me. "Who is that girl?"

I better make a good impression or else he won't tell us a word. "Hey Bob, I'm Sarah. I'm the new girl in your school."

"Oh, nice to meet you Sarah. How come I haven't seen you before?"

"Oh you see, I attended yesterday for the first time, and yesterday you were ill."

"Oh, that's right. Is there any specific reason you two want to see me?"

"Tell him Peter, you know him better."

"If by better you mean I see him walk down the hallway everyday, then sure." he whispers.

"Just do it" I say with some nerves.

"Ugh fine. Bob, I know this is none of our business and it is unfriendly to ask you that, but could you please answer some questions about Nathan?"

"I see, so that's why you came." He is about to close the door when Peter rushes and puts his arm on it.

"Wait, please. We'll do anything you want! We want Nathan out of this school as much as you."

EXCUSE ME?! I DON'T REMEMBER GIVING HIM PERMISSION TO SAY THAT.  What if he's a weirdo and he asks for creepy stuff?

"Who are you talking to honey?"

"Just to some kids from school."

"Let them in, maybe they want cake."

"Fine, come in." Peter and I look at eachother with a victorious smile.

"Hi, I'm Bob's Mom. Nice to meet you."

"I'm Peter and this is Sarah."

We introduce ourselves and go to Bob's room. It's painted blue and has a lot of cars, let alone his Lighting McQueen bed.

I start to talk. "So let's get straight to the point. Lately, you were threatened by Nate in the bathroom. He scared you with some secret super-weapon deal?"

"Yes."

"What did he want from you."

"To shut up about what he did. I catched him eavesdropping on a teacher, maybe that's where he heard from the deal. Anyways, he saw me and from that moment on he made my life hell. He said if I told someone, he was gonna hurt me with those weapons."

"Interesting. Do you know anything else that might help us?"

"No, sadly not. Are you gonna go to the police now?"

"No, I have a plan."

"You have what now?" Peter says.

"A plan. Bob, you are gonna go to school tomorrow and let Ethan come to you."

"Are you crazy? That's basically suicide!"

"No it's not. You will meet us before school and I will give you a mini recorder that you will put behind your ear. When he tries to threaten you, act dumb so he has to explain you everything. When he goes to far, Peter or me will jump in and get him off of you. If it works, we have evidence we can show to the teacher or the police and they will tell S.H.I.E.L.D. I know that is not easy at all, but think about it. I will give you my number, text me when you have made your decision."

"Alright, I will think about it. But even if I say no, thanks for wanting to help me."

"Not only you. If he gets kicked out, I won't have to listen to his stupid homophobic arguments anymore."

"Yeah, I know what you mean."

We say our goodbyes and leave the building.
