Chapter 10 - Additional Powers

I wake up in my bed at 10 am with a light headache. I should have gone to the doctor because of my injuries from yesterday, but I was too to tired to do that after the fight. This sounds weird, but I don't feel any pain now. It's like all my wounds are gone. Maybe it's because of my powers, spiders recover fast.

Due to the sudden manifestation of electricity powers yesterday, I know I have to search for the origin of these abilities. I decide to contact Neptune Labs, where my spider has been kept. After several calls, I finally connected with the scientist that was there during my spider bite. I explain him my situation amd he says that this is new to him and I should visit him in the lab later.

But first I need to wake up properly, so I go on and choose my outfit for the day.

(Hair)

Slay.

After I took a shower I brushed my teeth and put on the outfit. I'm never hungry in the morning, so I don't eat anything for breakfast.

"Looking good, Sarah!" I hear Ethan calling me. "That was intense yesterday, are you okay? I would have asked you yesterday but you seemed to tired and I didn't want to bother you."

"No it's alright, and yeah I'm okay. I'm actually heading to the lab right now to find out more about my powers. I managed to stop Steward, but apparently there is more to Spidergirl than just defeating villains."

"What do you mean?"

"Yesterday I had manifested electricity powers, but I don't know how." I actually don't know what better way there is to tell someone that, because it's so insane.

"So it's electricity too now? That must have been a godly spider!" He finds it funny.

"Maybe, I don't know yet. But I really need to go now.

"Okay bye bestie! And tell me everything later!" He waves.

"I will." I wave back.

*at the lab*

Dr. Rodriguez analyzes my blood as I just sit there and look a the dead spider in the box. Suddenly he turns around with a shocked face.

"Sarah, this is fascinating! It seems that the spider that bit you possesses unique genetic mutations, granting you abilities beyond the typical ones."

"So what you're saying is that I have additional powers?" My eyes widen.

"Based on the informations we have, the electrical powers you displayed during the fight are a result of these genetic mutations. The spider's genetic makeup triggered these abilities within you. It's a rare occurrence, but it explains your newfound abilities."

"That makes sense." I'm glad there's an answer for this.

"But that's not all of it."

"There's MORE?!" I don't know how much more I can take, this is already enough.

"This spider that bit you could also control energy. Imagine it like chi flowing through your body, just more intense. But you need to be careful, or else you will have an overload. You don't want to experience that, trust me."

"But how come we find out about this just now? "

"They knew it was a super spider, but they didn't test it on any humans before you, so not everything is known yet. Also, this is a very rare super spider, so you can consider yourself extremely lucky. I must definitely take a better look at this."

After a few minutes I say bye to the scientist and leave the room.

I cannot believe this! I thought I would just get the normal powers but this is even better, now I can throw electric punches!This is not as bad as I thought. But I'm still skeptical about the overload thing, what if it actually happens? I could die or be in pain.

I'm about to go outside as I notice Nick Fury himself opening the door. He looks me in the eye.

"Good morning Sarah." A warm smile appears on his face.

"Good morning Mr. Fury." I cannot trust my eyes. This is the first time I ever see him in person.

"I was told that you are here. I want to talk to you about the events of yesterday, please follow me to the building now." He looks serious now.

I try to act as cool as possible. "Sure."  What is happening? Is he mad? Did I do something wrong?
