One Shot+Fluff {christmas} 04

Happy Late Christmas! This one shot is set in the same year that Luca first goes to school.

"Good morning, Alberto." A gruff voice filled the room, waking Alberto up as a warm light from over him filled the room.

He sat up, and looked at the burly man in his door. "Good morning, dad."

Alberto smiled, and he could see Massimo put on a faint smile back. "I fixed breakfast. After we eat, you can open gifts with Luca and Giulia."

Alberto nodded and smiled wider, standing up and heading downstairs with Massimo. As they headed down the stairs, Alberto could hear a shuffling.

He inwardly laughed at the thought of Machiavelli jumping from shelf to shelf in the kitchen. When Massimo went to the kitchen the bright lights flooded his eyes, and he had to squint.

"Surprise!" Two voices yelled and then began to giggle, then Alberto was pulled into a hug by two people.

Alberto immediately recognized the voices, and hugged them back. "How- when did you get here!?"

"Dad picked us up early this morning!" Giulia laughed, and hugged Alberto tighter until he couldn't breathe.

Once he got out of the rib crushing hug, Alberto was surprised by another hug, but from Luca. "I missed you so much!"

Alberto's grin widened, and he hugged the smaller boy back, placing his head atop Luca's soft brown curls. "Merry Christmas, Beto."

Luca said, and he released the hug. "Merry Christmas. I missed you, too."

The three talked as they sat at the table eating breakfast. "I was so exited to hear that I have a brother now!"

Giulia smirked, then leaned into Luca's ear to whisper something. After she pulled away from Luca, his face turned red, and he started fidgeting with his hands.

Alberto ignored whatever Giulia had said, smiled, and turned to Luca. "I heard you passed your exams!"

Luca lit up, obviously proud of himself. "Yeah! I passed all of them!"

The three eventually moved onto another topic as they moved to the living room to open gifts. Alberto noticed more under the tree than the night before.

After a while of taking turns opening gifts, there was wrapping paper everywhere, and the gifts piled in front of the receiver.

Alberto had gotten colored pencils and a sketch book from Luca. A comic book and corresponding action figure was gifted to him from Massimo.

Giulia decided to get him a large lego set. Luca had received a similar thing from Giulia, but instead of a bright red car with a Lego man, it was a space ship with an astronaut.

Alberto gave him a stuffed fox, which Luca had mentioned he thought was cute. Massimo gave him a book about mythology.

Giulia received a puka shell necklace from Alberto. Massimo gifted her a book about different countries and their culture.

Luca gave Giulia a cassette tape from a pop singer named Mina. They all thanked each other for the gifts, and the day went by with the four watching Tv, and playing games while snow piled outside.

The day ended, and Luca settled into Alberto's room, Giulia and Massimo in their own. Luca sighed with content as he laid next to Alberto with his stuffed fox on his chest.

"Thank you." Alberto looked at Luca next to him on his bed.

"It wasn't too much, I just thought you'd like it." He shrugged, and then laughed at Luca over thanking him for the fox.

"No, not the stuffed animal. I mean- yes! I love the stuffed animal, but I meant for today." Luca smiled at him, and Alberto melted at the sight.

"What do you mean? I had no idea you were coming today." The two sat up simultaneously, Luca placing the stuffed animal in his lap.

"I really enjoy being around you, and it's all I looked forward to as soon as I heard about the plan to come here for Christmas." 'He looked forward to me. Not any of the gifts.'

Alberto's heart felt whole, his stomach did flips, and his smile refused to leave. Then, before Alberto could believe nothing could make him happier, a kiss was planted on his cheek.

Luca looked at him, very nervously waiting for his reaction. He saw Alberto's shock on his face as his mouth stayed slack.

Then, Alberto's smile returned, and he leaned into Luca for another kiss. The two closed their eyes, and let the moment last.
