jack,"Dude, Ollie posted the song." Luke exclaimed, his phone out as he was only half dressed for their game. Jacks head perked up from the stall next to him, his heart speeding up at the thought of seeing her tonight.
There was a possibility that this could amend their relationship, with two different outcomes. He wanted the one where they stayed together. Jack wanted nothing more than to be with Olive. She had told him she loved him, yet proceeded to ask for this break.
Even though they hadn't been talking as much as they normally would before, it had still felt like the longest two weeks of his life without getting to hear her voice once. He had meant it when he told her he loved her too, all he hopes was that she believed him.
"Jack, she wants you to listen to it before she sees you." Luke said, staring at the message on his phone.
"I-I—"
"Well! Let's hear it!" Dawson cheered but before Jack could argue, he was typing into his youtube search bar. "She's not showing up." He said, his brows furrowed and Luke laughed.
"Thats cause she doesn't use her last name, just search olive glue song." The younger Hughes said, glancing over to his brother who had gone quiet in the mix of excitement.
Soon enough, Jack was hearing the song for the first time, listening to the soft voice of Olive accompanied by the meaningful lyrics. Despite their break and everything going on between them, he felt he knew that this was meant for him. If it hadn't been, then he was the biggest idiot in the world.
Jack was in love with her. He messed it all up over stupid insecurities and he wanted nothing more than to make it right again. Tonight was his chance.

Although Olive wasn't huge into hockey, there was always a rush that came with an overtime. Adrenaline and anxiety mixed together each time someone touched the puck. It was anyone's game at that point and all she wanted was for her team to get the goal. Despite her being from Michigan and the Red Wings supposed to be her team, she knew who she wanted to win.
Jack had the puck, skating over the blue line and making a smooth pass to Timo. They were surrounded, any wrong move and Detroit could take it. Then, Timo was passing it to Marino and it was back to Jack who had a clear shot of the net.
"Come on, Jack!" Olive cheered, far too invested for her liking. She wasnt alone though, with Ellen by her side they had been screaming for the last two hours.
"He's got an open net, what the hell is he—that's my boy!" Ellen shouted, the two jumping up in celebration as Jack made the shot over Husso's glove.
The winning buzzer went off and Jersey won four-three. The two in the stands hugged joyously, nothing but smiles as they cheered.

see you soonIt had only been a few minutes of them waiting, Ellen greeting every reporter as if they had been old friends. Olive was initially nervous about coming to the game with the woman. She assumed Jack had told her what had happened and that she would no longer like her, but that wasn't the case.
