Lee
5 Days Later
We had been walking forever when we finally made it to a clearing in the woods. Luke stopped to look at the Map with Pete giving everyone else the time to rest.
Clementine seemed to have the most energy out of us all. She climbed on top of a rock, pulling out her binoculars to see further down the bridge.
Sam hopped up on the rock next to her and laid down looking around. Sam seemed attached to Clem for some reason. For the past 5 days, he hasn't left her side once. Not even when we stopped to rest.
It's like they had some kind of bond that seemed to spark over night. Or more like in minutes.
" See anything?" Luke asked once he noticed what Clem was doing." She better see somethin'. We've been walkin' for a damn week." Alvin grumbled. Sam growled as if he understood what Alvin had said.
" It's not up to her, whether she sees something or not. We're all tired. Let Clem tell us what she sees." I said looking over at him.
" There's a building on the mountain. " She said continuing to look through the binoculars.
" What's it look like?" Luke questioned.
Clem hummed a little before responding. " It's... Big." She shrugged
Luke looked back at Pete and the rest of us nodding. " That sounds like a good place to spend the night." He said.
Clem looked around more before speaking again. " There's a lift or something..." She stated.
" A chair lift? Must be that ski resort. " Luke responded.
Clem put the binoculars down sighing. " I've never been skiing." She said sadly causing Sam to lick the side of her face.
The sad look instantly disappeared as she giggled pushing Sam away playfully. " Bec and I went once." Alvin smirked looking back at Rebecca.
" It wasn't pretty." She chuckled shaking her head.
Clem pulled the binoculars back to her face and took one last look out. " There's the bridge, and there's a little house at the end of it. " Clem called out.
" How big is it?" Carlos asked.
" It's pretty small." Clem replied pulling the binoculars from her face and climbing down from the rock.
" Does the bridge look passable?" Pete questioned once Clementine was standing in front of us.
" I think so." Clem nodded.
" Good, we have to cross that bridge, Let's go." Carlos said ready to get going.
" Hold on now. We can't all go sprinting across that thing. Okay? If we get spotted out there, we're gonna be trapped." Luke pointed out.
" Going around that lake will take too long. " Carlos argued.
" We've got no idea who's out there. Okay, I'm gonna sneak across and make sure it's clear before we bring the whole group over." Luke offered.
Carlos still didn't seem convinced. " You think splitting up the group is a good idea? " He asked with a disapproving look on his face.
" Luke's right. This is better than risking the whole group all together. " I said backing Luke up.
Alvin nodded. " What's your plan?" He questioned.
" Lee, Clem, and I will scoot across low and slow and make sure nobody's waiting for us on the other side." Luke nodded to me. I nodded back and moved over to join him and Clem.
