Chapter 12: Unexpected Reunion

Tripp was now in front of the line as we drove silently down the empty road. " Lee, I know you hate it when I talk like this, But I don't trust Tripp at all. He was so willing to jump to that guys defense back there. Locked us up when we weren't even in the wrong. And it ain't like we killed the guy. It was his own fault that gun went off." Kenny said after minutes of driving in silence.

" I know, Kenny. I really don't trust him either. But we gotta play it safe for now. Just keep an eye on em' . If he does anything remotely suspicious, we'll see it." I replied.

" Yeah... You're right Pal. " He nodded in agreement. Tripps truck stopped in front of us and he hopped out waving his hand for us to stop.

He walked towards Javi's car and leaned down talking into the window. Javi got out of the back seat and he and Tripp started talking.

" What do you think is going on?" Kenny Asked as we watched them talk.

" I don't know, let's find out. Come on girls." I said opening the car door as we all got out.

" What's goin' on?" I questioned as we approached Javi and Tripp.

" Well, we got a bunch of cars clogging the underpass. Too many to drive through. We're gonna need to move some of em' out of the way. " Tripp explained.

" Shit, well let's get to it. No time to waste. " I replied.

I turned looking at Clem as she stood leaning against Javi's car. " Clem, You and Sarah stay here okay. We're gonna clear this path so we can get back moving. " I told her.

She nodded as Gabe walked over to her and they started talking. " I'll stay with Kate and keep a lookout. " Eleanor said from the front seat of the car.

I could see Kate in the back, she didn't look good at all. I made a mental note to keep an eye on her as well. We couldn't have her turning and hurting anyone.

" Yell at us if anything happens. " Javi spoke,
Eleanor nodded as we walked over to the wreckage.

" Awfully convenient the pass is blocked like this. " Tripp sighed as we examined what we had to work with.

" Not convenient at all if you ask me." Conrad responded shaking his head.

The sound of walkers groaning caught our attention as I turned around to see Clem and Sarah taking down two walkers. They looked at each other and nodded before turning back to look at us.

" Tough kids you got there. " Conrad complimented glancing over at me.

" Yeah, I did my best with them, I had some help though." I smirked looking over at Kenny.

" Nah, Clem's been a tough one since day one. She taught Sarah everything she knows. If we're being technical." Kenny chuckled.

" I think if we move that car right there we should be good. " Javi said pointing towards the car.

"Alright then, let's get to work." Kenny sighed as we made our way towards the trashed car. I examined it as the others got ready to push.

" Lee? What ya waitin' on ?" Kenny asked from behind the car.

" There may be five of us, Kenny, But this car ain't moving without any wheels. " I pointed out causing them all to let go of the car and move over to see what I was looking at.

" Fuck, What do we do now." Kenny groaned.

" We'll think of something. Let's take a look around." I suggested as we all split up. Clem stood next to the car smiling as Gabe crouched down petting Sam.
