Chapter 27: Arvo's Community

After leaving the Conference Building, I still wasn't sure about the situation. I didn't want to trust Arvo just for him to turn on us, Again. He had a long way to go before I truly believed he was telling us the truth.

Willy and Tenn were waiting outside the conference building when he stepped out of the doors. Once they noticed AJ, they both stood up giving him a worried look. I watched AJ walk over to them, speaking in a hushed tone as he glanced in Arvo's direction.

Sarah chuckled beside me as she turned to look at me. " Looks like we might get our own neighborhood watch." She chuckled.

I smirked opening my mouth to speak, but I was interrupted by the sound of someone speaking from behind me. " Clem? Can I speak to you?"

Sarah and I turned in the direction the voice came from, our eyes landing on Rose and Arvo. I raised an eyebrow as I turned to fully face them, crossing my arms over my chest.

" We just wanted to thank you for giving us a chance. We notice this place is pretty huge, so if there's anything you need our help with, let us know." Rose spoke with a nod when I didn't say anything.

" The leaders will let you know if there's anything you're needed for. " Sarah replied rolling her eyes.

" I'm going to speak with Lee, once he's available. " Arvo cut in causing me to glance over at him. He cleared his throat as Rose held his arm for support.

" Clem, I know you don't trust me, but you will see that we are telling the truth very soon. We're going to get the others later , The leaders said we have to take a few of you with us, so... Why don't you come." He suggested causing me to frown slightly raising an eyebrow at Sarah.

" Actually... That's a great idea. We'll come with you." Sarah smirked crossing her arm.

" Um... We will?" I frowned at her. She nodded with a sly grin on her face. " Ofcourse we will."

Arvo and Rose smiled and nodded. " That's perfect. Well we're gonna go see where we're staying. See you later." Rose spoke as she lead Arvo away, waving to us as they left.

" What do you have up your sleeve, Sarah?" I asked, once Arvo and Rose were out of earshot. Sarah smirked at me before linking her arm with mine and leading me away from the conference building.

" Don't you want to keep an eye on him? If we go, then we'll be able to watch his every move. Besides, I want to get off from behind these gates. I want to be out in the action." Sarah smiled looking at me.

I chuckled shaking my head. " Sarah, are you insane?" I asked.

" Maybe just a little. But that's why we're Best Friends, because you're a little insane too." She smirked nudging me in the side with her elbow.

We laughed as we made our way to my apartment building. As we approached the front doors, Sam came running towards me with his tail wagging and his tongue hanging out causing me to smile.

I bent down rubbing behind his ears as he greeted me happily.  Sam followed Sarah and I inside and as soon as we stepped into the building, we spotted Louis, Brody, and Marlon coming out of Louis's apartment.

Louis looked over making eye contact with me, a smile spread across his face causing me to chuckle.

" Clem, that guy absolutely adores you." Sarah said shaking her head as they made they're way over to us.

" Hey, we heard about the meeting. What's going on?"  Marlon questioned as he glanced from me to Sarah.

" Yeah, and who was at the gate?"  Louis added curiously.
